We are waking up to 18degs F with 4degs F wind chill this morning!

That’s cold for my neck of the woods! I’m thinking this Ironwood bigun Lambsfoot will be
about all I need!

...
That ironwood lambsfoot is such a beautiful knife, Ron! I hope you don't "need" it for a fire to keep you warm!

Mrs. Grave Fleschwund did some straightening out,and I saw this little bag sitting out when she was done.
View attachment 1058489 It made me think about what it’s like looking at knives on BF or ebay with one’s wife looking over your shoulder.

Good thinking, Jeff.
Superior wood on that ebony/rosewood pair; nice combo, John!

That Queen City is a centerfold canoe!

Hey Paul - a black box Winchester, model 2991 from 1988. I think they called it an equal end pen knife, 3 1/2 inches long or so with a clip and a spear blade.
Dynamite duo, Tom! I see from the later post that the equal end is a Black Box Winchester; very nice!

Very colorful shot, Dean, even though almost everything is black or white!

These today :

Harry
Well-matched covers, Harry; I'm especially enthralled by the checkered bone handle on the 78!

If we all like the same things, this hobby and hangout would mean a lot less!

It is a molcajete, a traditional Mexican version of mortar and pestle. We grind spices in it, and sometimes serve guacamole in it.
Thanks for the info, Vince; I'd NEVER have guessed that!

Learn something new every day!

Nice carries, love the Lambsfoot, its a keeper!
Thanks, Dennis.

Looking forward to seeing your "Anni Lambsfoot"!

Thanks, GT. That is a Schrade Walden in "butter & molasses" celluloid.
...
Covers are compelling, and the blade combo is interesting!

From left to right, you could make a case for having a skinner blade, a lambsfoot, and a punch main!!
I awoke to cold and windy conditions outside, so I waited until our new dog needed a walk and the fireplaces needed a re-fill to take a pic of my tote today. Morning temps of -5° wind chill eventually rose to 3° wind chill when I walked at 10:00 am. My tote is a Queen #31 medium congress from 1961-1971. I'm guessing that it is from the rear end of that period, as the covers are Delrin in the Winterbottom jigging. A single spring knife, this is easy totin'.

- Stuart
Yes, Virginia, there IS a snap of cold weather!

That Queen half-congress is regal, Stuart!

How old is Loki? He looked like a fine dog in a previous photo!
On this Feast of St. Vincent (Jan. 22), I will be toting a stag lambsfoot:
--Vincent
Great shot of your stag AC, Vince!

Is St. Vincent the patron saint of cutlery??
That's a nicely worn in alox, GT. It has a very neat look, like a well used tool.
Love the old Pioneer. I once carried a very similar one every day for 3 years straight. I never had want for another knife.
...
Good SAK alox, it is well noted how much has worked...
Thanks for the observations about my Alox Pioneer, John & Buzz & José & Steve.

I wish I were the one who put in all the carrying to wear the red from the covers (as Buzz did, I'll bet

), but I've only carried it a few times in the 1.5 years I've had it.
Northwoods Fremont Jack and Little Bay in denim micarta
...
Not usually "moved by micarta", but that denim micarta on your knives is sensational!

Many thanks Mr. Gary, the knife is 2 7/8" long when closed, with a 2" blade...

Thanks for the measurements, Senhor José.
....
I always enjoy seeing your vintage Pioneer GT, and your Man Jack of course

...
I enjoy your enjoyment, Jack.

Your red/black combo is a valuable daily double!
Today in my pocket, CASE XX Jigged Amber Bone Mini Trapper with wharncliffe blade...
...
Lovely and functional knife, sir!

What a striking pair in osage orange and stag!

Looking tasty, Chef Jeff!!

Is that what you whip up for your church cooking?
I’ve already been to town and back this morning and I had these two in my pocket! My truck showed 19F this morning which is cold for this area.

...
That glowing horn on your lambsfoot must indicate an inner heat that will keep you warm, Ron!

Ron, all your lambfoot knives are beautiful; the horn is no exception! So far this morning it's me and RALF and some green tea.
"RALF" misspelled backwards is "FLAIR", and he definitely has that, Jeff!

Superb pair of knives, Mark!

Is the lambsfoot quite new? I hope you don't need the Potter's to fight symptoms of a cold.
Terrific trio all snug in their beds, Dave!

Did you make that holder?
...
My #1 electric, a home built. African mahogany from the sawmill, and a flamed piece of maple for the neck that I found in the racks at Menards.

...
I know nothing about guitars, but that you built that IMHO gorgeous one is impressive as heck, Jeff!

Love the patina!
You and
Half/Stop
are totin some nice horn scales today!
I bet
@r8shell has your missing Boker shield.

dc50
~ Nice little display!
@black mamba ~ So how does green tea work for forcing a patina?
@Travman ~ Nice! Did you replace the scales on your Bull Nose? I like that.
How's that for a name dropping post?
Also impressive as heck, Jeff!
