“Winter Weather Event”.
I almost feel sorry for the weather readers. They suffer from a need to remain relevant and a penchant for the melodramatic. So some freezing drizzle turning to snow, aka-January, becomes a Winter Weather Event complete with dire Advisories and Warnings.View attachment 1059517Cardinals stage in the serviceberry above the feeder, and a downy woodpecker tries to get at the suet through the snow...View attachment 1059520View attachment 1059521

Nice pairing Jack . I picked up a small FB and a scout knife one day, thought "hmmmm this seems useful", and now I have a bucket full of combinations of these. And it makes me happy :)

For me today:

I try to keep seed out for the birds as best I can but it's a constant battle with the squirrels. I derive no pleasure from controlling their population but it's a necessary evil.
The birds come down and eat the dog's food out of his bowl and drink from his water bowl. Squirrels don't usually come that close to the house. The dog tolerates the birds, but not the squirrels.

Such a great Barlow.
