What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Sitflyer -

I love the pen-I-used-to-be-a-spey blade. Did you mod the blade because something chipped or broke, or just for the heck of it? Also - grinder, file, or what? In any case, nice work - looks slick!

Thanx fishin...I like pen blades for opening boxes and stuff.

I haven't posted for a while, this knife hasn't really left my pocket. Thought I'd post a pic's showing the knife when I first got it and how it looks now.

Hey Sam,

I was just wondering how you were doing and then you posted that! Looking great.

Got my 85 EO. Getting lots of use and its holding up well.

Thanks Kevin, it's certainly getting pocket worn!

Glad that #85 is working out for you, nice knife:)

I gave my #85 to a close friend as a thank you present in return for a big favour. Bit of a pull but I know it's gone to a good home:)

I was toting this one (the smaller one) yesterday at the hospital (I'm fine), and I talked the nice lady taking x-rays into shooting an x-ray of the knives I was carrying.

I was hoping for a little more "transparency", for lack of a better word, but I wasn't about to complain.
Know what it is?

That's right! It's a Conductor.

Hi Stu!

That X-Ray Pic is nice :) First, before reading your post and only seeing the pic, I thought about of something like paperwork... :D

Kind regards
Andi

Today I am carrying my freshly reground Queen Dan Burke Barlow. This particular knife has a few issues including a somewhat weak walk and talk and what looks like a worker slip when spinning the main pin because it looks like there are tool marks on the scales. The biggest problem was that the blades were ground very uneven and to add to that they were just impossibly thick behind the edge, which really killed the cutting ability. I sent the knife off to an extremely competent forum member here and he reground the blades with kind of a 3/4 convex to preserve the nail nick but get the area behind the edge MUCH thinner. I couldn't be happier with the result. It is now quite literally whittling hair, a prospect which was highly unlikely in its former state.

Craftsman small stockman again today.

Since I had to be in Washington, D.C. all day yesterday I am taking my day off today to catch up on around the house chores. So far the only cutting tasks have been opening two packages, both with rubber meets the road contents:

* New Puma shoes for my son;

* New Michelin tires for my Klein Q Carbon Race bicycle.

Here it is in an older shot, along with the Böker USA Tree Brand stockman, and the Schrade 8OT senior stockman I recently gave away.
