What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Ok gentlemen, this works for me. Keep in mind that I only use a lowly cellphone camera and upload straight to the forum- no photo sharing site.

Take the shot.
Tap on it and then tap edit.
At the bottom, select the little icon on the left. On an Iphone, it is a little rectangle with arrows circling it.
You can now crop the edges by sliding the borders inward if you want. Rotate if needed.
There will be a white rectangle icon on the right (above the “done” icon). Use that to reduce your image- 3/4, or 4/5 works. If you don’t do this, the site can’t load it and will give you a red message that it’s too large.
Play around with the coloring if you like- dramatic, warm, cool, black&white, etc.

Then hit “done”.

Now, on the forum reply to thread box, look under it and hit “upload an image”.
Select camera roll, or recent photos.
Tap on your photo. You should see a green check mark on it. Hit “done”.

The BF site will now start loading your pic. In the meantime, type your message. Select “full image”, and submit your reply.

Hope to see your photos!

Edit!- I just noticed your screen name. The Mets!?!? Sorry can’t help you.:D

Thnx, but I’m not a paid member so I can’t post directly, and I’ve tried 3 different image hosts suggested by folks on here and it never works. If I break down and decide to sell off some knives as I’ve been considering, I’ll get a paid membership and it should be easier.

A paid membership is a lot cheaper than a knife.

Tony Bose Case Sowbelly. This was the Carhartt version. The shield fell out, and I had it reversed and engraved XX for Case. I never liked the Carhartt logo on my knife, but I always thought this was one of the best Sowbelly configurations. This is the only time I was ever happy to have a shield that was glued rather than pinned!

Ok. I’m not sure I understand. I wasn’t questioning the cost, simply pointing out that I don’t have paid membership. The only thing I can’t do without membership that I might like to is post the odd pic. But that’s not really a big deal to me. Like I said if I end up deciding to sell off a few that I don’t carry anymore I’ll pay for a membership and let the great folks on here have first shot at them.

But let’s not derail things too much, I’m really enjoying this Winchester. It’s just a touch smaller and lighter than my GEC 56. I love the dark bone, it’s very consistent across the whole face and in the jigging but a lot of variation right at the edges. The jigging is beautiful too. One thing I really like for some reason is the shield sits proud of the scale, it’s pinned and all but it’s just not set deep in the bone. Its probably higher that it really should be but it catches my eye and I really like it.

If I can figure it out, anybody can... https://postimages.org/

Well, a paid membership also allows you to have private conversations, which is nice to have. Most importantly, it supports the forum.

When Case started puttin’ bone covers on in place of the chunky composite/delrin ( ?) ones on the Sodbuster Jr I had to have one. It just changed boys knife into a gentleman’s knife. The Jigged chestnut bone covers are some of the nicest examples of Jigged bone Case has ever made, very knice example.

Great knives, folks!
A little Crotts designed Dozier with me today. Handy little knife!

I have an old Arkansas Toothpick I got from him at one of the first ECCKS (East Coast Custom Knife Show) back in the late 80s.

Here’s mine with my old EK model 5 Combat Bowie.

That man knows his D2 that’s for sure and if you’ve ever caught his ear at a show, he’s a font of information and loves to talk shop. :)

I’ve been wanting to ask what kind of camera and editing you are using. Your photos really bring out out the colors of that Camillus bone.
Keep carrying and showing it!

I gotta get back to usin’ my DSLR for pics. It makes me take a picture instead of shoot a shot if you know what I mean. ;). I just need a new lens, my only lens for it decided to grind the internals and won’t focus.

Fab horn Kevin

Kevin, I’ve been using mineral oil to care for my various horn scales and handles. Think that’s sufficient?

All my recent pictures have been taken with an iPhone 7. I sometimes run the pictures through Snapseed to compensate for lack of lighting.

Great shots. Good lighting, a good eye for composition, some imagination, knowledge of your equipment, it’s limitations and how to exploit them can take great shots with an instamatic 110. ;).

Still I’d rather have a camera, lights, tripods light box and a lot of time for post production editing.

@Buzzbait ~ so no magic, no high falutin tricks. I guess that knife just looks good naturally.

You know that old saying that the knife you have in a survival is the best survival knife you can have. ?

The camera you have on you is the best camera to take the picture you want. :)

A paid membership is a lot cheaper than a knife.

A pack of cigarettes and a coffee, 2 $5 lottery tickets. A weeks worth of bottled water from WaWa.

There’s really no excuse.

One of their best collaborations and robust yet elegant gentlemen’s knife, especially the single blade version.

Thank you very much for the very kind words of my 35 my friend . You could waste a lot of time looking for one like it . It really is 1 of 12 Parts Knives made that were sold at the 2018 Rendezvous at Titusville . I do Know A Guy who has 2 of them though . I can tell you though that the 35 is a serious knife . I do not think you can go wrong on buying one to use .I hope you have good luck in finding a 35 that you like . Your Stag 44 is a nice looking piece too my friend . They are a nice pattern to have too . I like Gunstocks in general .

Harry
I know a guy like that Harry! He usually has a backup for his backups!;)

A 2015 Lick Creek 38 in smooth Ivory bone that has mellowed nicely with time:cool: Had one, sold it, regretted it, then bought this one from Lyle at the Rendezvous:thumbsup:

Yes gunstocks are great, one of my favorites. I currently have three of them.
March is an "extra check" month for me; this means knives!
So a 35 just might find its way to me. Not a emerald jewel like yours (man is that sweet!), but something nice. The Churchill does have a fine reputation and I love clip-points.

As always, the Camillus. Tagging along on Tidioute Thursday is my micarta Soda Scout, another one of my Top 5 all-time favorite GEC’s.

That pair looks very well together, Buzz...
You'd be the fastest lime-slicing, bottle-opening, sasparilla-chugging madman in the West with that duo !!
