What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

While I was in the Land of Nod, the Guardians thread passed 800 pages :) So I am celebrating with a Double Lambsfoot Day! :) Any excuse! ;) :D

Congrats on the milestone, Jack, and for that fine wood-clad pair.

800 pages for the Lambsfoot! I will carry my Golden horn today.:D

Gorgeous golden horn, Dave. Luscious!

Good morning Stuart. The Nguni sowbelly arrived yesterday and I’ll carry it for a few days to see if I bond with it.
The Jess Horn zulu is one of my favorites and yes the shield is fitted smooth to the stag. On the right side there is a very minor edge you can feel with your fingernail. It is almost imperceptible so it’s meaningless as far as I’m concerned.

Thanks for the feedback, Alan. The Nguni should fit right in with your collection.

Arrived monday, but gale wind and foul weather prevented to picture her before. Lovely curves of wood both side, blade perfectly centeredby far my n°1 nail breaker.:)

Beautiful knife, JP. I'm sorry about the resulting injuries.

Case 6202 1/2 today

Captivating Case barehead, Steve. Great jigged bone.

That's a pretty "piano key" pair, r8shell.

Thanks, Jeff, and I like your coat and Case trapper, both classics.

These two favorites for Wednesday! :)

Radiant colors, Ron. Thanks for showing that pair.

The navaja today

That is a fascinating knife, Pinemoon. So much in a small package.

Wood handled Loewen Messer and Stag Kronenkrebs .

What a handsome pair of old fellows you have there, Harry!

Fantastic photo, Harvey, and thanks for the background on the origin of the covers.

3 1/4" Joel Chamblin Swayback. Great amber stag covers and CPM-154 blades. A fine little knife. Just what you'd expect from Joel.

Gary, you and @joeradza have some very beautiful amber stag in your enviable collections. What a prize!

Really liking this 72 pattern a lot. Perfect size and blade combo. Feels great in hand.

That's all that you can ask of a pocket knife, Nick, plus yours is in great shape. A great find, pal. Everyone on the Porch benefits from your rewarding searches. Thanks.

Bone 72s from the pre-synthetic days seem to mostly be Rogers bone. This is mine.

Superb 72, RB.

Fresh out of the box Case xx Canoe sporting Burnt amber bone and she’s a beauty .

A classic Case canoe. So very classy with the slanted and threaded bolsters.

We’re supposed to have more rain and possibly severe storms later this evening and into the night. I’m putting these two in my pocket this morning. I figured the Yeller Delrin may be the only sunshine I’ll have today! :D

Be careful, Ron, as that storm front has been a bear. Your pair should be able to get you through most any challenges (until it is chain saw time).

I'm having popcorn on pork! :D

Nice knife, Jeff, and I saw what you did there.

All I know is that it's a 6318 in CV.

A fine knife with a fine story, Buzz. If it's a 3-dot, it's from 1997.

This one today

Superb old Schrade, Steve. I agree with Buzz.

I don't know how you manage to come up something amazing every day.

I think that he and @kai76 have a collection of old hardware stores that they own across several Midwestern states that they use as inventory, Buzz. It's the only explanation for the constant flow of fine old pocket knives.

Schrade Walden

Fine one, Gev. Are you on the @SteveC and @kai76 Fine Old Knife Bandwagon, too?

So several weeks ago, I sat down for breakfast with our friends Jeff @black mamba, Rick @Railsplitter and Scott @pearl2291. We enjoyed some good company and fellowship, and passed a few knives around the table before attending a local knife show.

Jeff had his Bolus with him, and I kept asking him if I could inspect it again. Something about that knife just felt right to me. I had to order one, and Mike at CK sent me a fine example. Now, a few weeks more have passed, and I like the knife so much that I bought a "back up", or user, so I can have one for everyday and one for Sunday best.

So just a warning: beware “Jeff the Enabler” :).

Anyway carrying these two today ;).

I would usually tote and post these on Twosday, but I'm instigating a Two Trapper Thursday today, as I'm totin' this pair, mainly so that, when it turns to Thirsty Thursday around 5:00 p.m., I'll have something for my buddies to coon-eye and chicken-finger when we gather at our regular watering hole. It'll get the discussion started in the right direction. (A tip: a splash of vodka on a cocktail napkin works well to get sweaty fingerprints off knife blades, even everyday working blades like these.)

My EDC knives don't change much; I've found my preferred combination: Victorinox Pioneer and either my case CV Peanut in Chestnut bone or my Schrade USA Old Timer 104OT. I love the combination of the smoothness and the ridges of the sawcut-style Delrin.

Today I couldn't make up my mind, so I chose both! I love the combination of the smooth and sawcut textures in the Delrin on the Old Timer, and it's slim profile.

Tom, I totally agree with your opinion of the Bolus, I have two, an ebony Drop Point and a Ram's horn Otnat and they are absolutely wonderful knives. Smooth finish that makes extended use a breeze, just a solid knife, perfect pull (for me) and steel that cuts like crazy:thumbsup: Your user and backup are stunning examples:cool::thumbsup:

Can you imagine how sweet that Case would be if it had that Black Box Bone? A great pair that I know you’re very fond of Stuart! Enjoy your Happy Hour! :D
