Wow, have you already been using that Northfield, or what?!

Beautiful.

Yea, I thought about no patina on this one for about a day, but figured just about ever knife I own is carbon and all have patinas, plus I live surrounded by saltwater and never had any rust, so why change now. I would hate for a pit mark on such thin blades. I also thought your white owl looks better with a patina. I do use my knives a lot for fresh fruit and fishing, cleaning fish, so my patinas usually develop pretty quick.

This one's ridden in my pocket for a while, though I don't yet have the heart to work it too hard. Might have the sharpest tip of any I've seen, on the clip blade. It's my 10-dot (1970) stag Peanut:

Whoa, is that a looker.

I like the simplicity of that shield more than the fancier, swirly ones of later years (and currently). Interesting, that it evidently used to be on Case's higher-end-material knives, and not the utilitarian (delrin) ones only.

Thank you. :)

That particular shield style is my all-time favorite from Case. This has a lot to do with why I like the '70s and earlier Case knives (and some into the early '80s as well). Case has sort of reverted back to that look with some of their more recent knives, like this one in black G10 (though it's not quite as 'oval' as on the older models, it still looks pretty good):

For the last couple of weeks I've been carrying a Queen cattle king and for better than a month a Western folding hunter lockback (110 size and frame) on my belt.

The F&F of the Western is rough, bought as the supply of Camillus knives were drying up. Easy to sharpen, which good because it doesn't hold an edge well out in the field and is better suited for food prep.

I like the thick stag on this one. It makes for a real comfortable grip.
