What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Got these 2 on me while I lurk around the house. We got some really nasty weather here. Even the dogs don`t want to go out.

Later I`ll start Barlow month 3 hours early when I head to work. I`ll give the 280OT a chance to prove itself. Horrible F&F and other things aside, the 300 stainless master blade gets razor sharp. This is probably my sharpest knife right now.

As I bid adieu to stockman month, I give my oldest stockman pride of place on this final day of June.

It is a double adieu, as I will soon part ways with this Böker USA Tree Brand stockman in a trade that is even now in the works.

I'm giving the old Waterville a few days in the pocket to see how I like the feel. The blades aren't really in cutting shape yet but I don't want to do much with them unless I'm sure I want to use the knife. For this post I figured I'd put the old knife with an old camera and get an old (looking) picture.

Update: The Peanut saw daylight twice today, cutting things on both outings from the pocket watch, Peanut Cave. :D

Yep! Just another days work for Hank the Cave Peanut, ridin shotgun for Cattle King the stockman at the Double XX tick ranch. :D

Something as simple as this shouldn`t taste so good. Polar bread and cream cheese. Small snack before i head to work. The broad blade makes this an excellent food knife.

Decided to throw this one in my pocket as well.
A New York Knife co. Jack, with ebony scales. Got it in a lot of knives off of eBay. Other than the broken pen (which I turned into a screwdriver) it is pretty nice.

Queen Cutlery Heritage 2011 single blade Ebony. I was lucky with this knife as it's very nicely finished, pull is a bit mild about 5 but it snaps well and feels excellent in the hand.

Thanks, Will

My "new" best friend followed me today, and it will be with me for the foreseeable future.

Walking in a dry creek bank and came across a walnut tree that had already aborted most of its nuts. Figured I would cut it open just for curiosity's sake. The walnut juice stained the blades immediately.

Picked up this little shadow pattern out of $1.00 knife bin at an obscure old open air flea market near Fort Pierce Florida several Sunday mornings ago.. Every other folder in that old bin was the el cheapo style wally world found-on-the-ground types.. This one was all rusted shut and caked with dirt/mud and initially I was unable to see anything familiar. Then after a good long stare, the only distinguishable characteristic I could see was one of the broken mother of pearl scales.. So I figured that just perhaps, she was worth my time cleaning her up to give her a shot at my edc rotation... I gave the vendor my buck and stuck her in my watch pocket of my jeans..

Fast forward to last week and a good two day mineral oil soak, lots of elbow grease and a little re-work with a sharpening stone and a file and here we find a 4 Blade marked 4901 and NEW YORK KNIFE COMPANY WALDEN -- HAMMER BRAND..
