Of course the Camilus, and the Case punch stockman as well today. I find myself using this punch stockman more and more lately. Such a nice compact package, with so many useful tools.

The CV steel doesn't hold an edge like GEC's harder 1095, but since the Case blades are ground so incredibly thin, they keep cutting well long after they've begun to dull. The net result seems to be that the Case often cuts better for longer, and resharpening is definitely quicker and easier.

The more I carry my Case knives lately, the more I see how different they are from my usual GEC's. I find modern Case knives to be extremely usable. Not so dear and collectible that I'm afraid to use them. They cut very efficiently and touch-ups are a breeze. Case knives also seem to be more pocket friendly. A bit leaner and lighter. I don't get that beautiful magic that GEC puts into every knife, but I do get a nice looking knife with incredible usability.

Maybe that's the real difference. If I want to see true beauty and artistry, I pick up a GEC. When I hold a GEC, is feel the wonderful history and craftsmanship of traditional knives. When I grab a Case, it's because I need to cut stuff, and do so with a relative amount of class.

Good comparison.
Case make good stuff.
Easy to obtain, easy on the wallet, and pretty much any model in stainless. Not sure if GEC will ever be able to say the same. We can dream...

I'm still experimenting with the pocket slip. I decided to put a flashlight in the second compartment. Two traditionals proved to be a bit heavy. I was listing to one side :)
I like the slip because it allows the knife to ride vertically in the pocket. More comfortable that way.
Really liking the Churchill, by the way
