What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

It is boring and old hat for you, for me to say a old Buck/Schrade 303 in a Ron Ryder pocket hanging sheath. But------

For your enjoyment, here is a sectioned 303 showing the 'blind' pin used by Schrade at that era. This made the Buck 'forever' warranty difficult to deal with so after 4 years they went the Camillus route till 85

That was a nice ending on an interesting story. Looking at the knife I have to wonder about the access to the middle blade. Is there no easy access, nailnick or else to unfold it, or am I just plain stupid:confused:

Bosse

Bosse, Sometimes the two blades don't close where they're supposed to from being run over a few times. They are tweaked in other words. Sometimes they close in the right place, sometimes they don't. I'm surprised the scales didn't break. There is a nail nick on the other side of the blade that is in the middle and that blade should be on the other side of the one with the visible nail nick. Sometimes it is, sometimes it isn't. It depends on which one you close first.

Wolfgang, I'm really liking those clip points.

You got yourself some fine knives there.

Peter

ps: still carrying the setup I posted before.

Nice old SAKs, Wolfgang! I love those knives - they are solid as a rock.

And I'd like to say thanks to you guys for turning me on to some really fabulous knives - the Case Bose knives. Just got this beauty, and all my other knives are going to be feeling neglected for a while, because I will be carrying this one for a stretch.

I got a nice pumpkin bone Tidioute GEC #23 Pioneer in the mail today in a trade with Stephen Tolar. I think I'll carry that one . . . but I'll need a cart or wheelbarrow or something to carry it with - those #23's are HUGE!

Today I carried my brand new SAK Explorer. Plus I had this Case Copperhead in my other pocket.

It ain't purty, but it's sharp and solid.

It's an older Schrade with carbon steel blades. I keep on picking it up every morning. It's just got that...... that..... "feel" to it.

Allen, She's look'n real purdy to meeee too! :D .. Very nice sweeet slipy you're a toten!

Heck, as I review this fine thread I am seeing quite a bit of great looking pocket knives as of late that you good folks have been show'n and tell'n!.

Broos, lovely TB #622003..

Wolfgang, your fine vintage SAK's exude class.. Foilist's GEC #23 sounds nice. Sure would like to be chicken eye'n that one too..

McGreg, that wonderful old Bulldog you managed to salvage at the 5 mile crossroads down the pike from your home was nothing less than a small miracle to be sure. Glad you got her back. Hate to have lost that one! She is a gem to be sure..

Buck_Fan, you have some great taste in traditional slipjoints but I especially like this latest Case Copperhead..

Here is one I was edc'n today that came in quite handy yet again!. This great little Schatt & Morgan Harness Jackknife is a frequent carry of mine!. My son shot these pictures over my shoulder while he assisted me in changing out a corroded and broken battery cable-end clamp on my old Ford P/U truck this afternoon.. I have previously mentioned to some of the other forum members here on how handy the punch blade has become for me for all kinds of cutting chores!. This is yet another one!. I had to scrape off the built up corrosion, and score the battery posts and the clamps for a positive connection to be able to re-start the motor today. I have found a hundred- and-one uses for the punch blade other than what would be thought of as typical uses in the last several years while edc'n her..

This really is a super useful pattern for sure. :)

Thanks. I appreciate it. That Copperhead is a beauty. The pictures don't do her justice. And I guess it is special to me since it is one of the first Case knives I got. My first where that Copperhead and my Amber Bone Canoe. I just got two new Copperheads. Not sure what I think of them yet. They are not what I was expecting. But I am sure they will grow on me.

I hear you on the punchs' uses sunnyd! I've never actually needed to use one as a punch... But, they make a great scrapper, pretty good cutter, great point for poking/picking at things, and usually being rather thick for their full width make a fair pry tool if absolutely needed..

Mine today was a Blue Alox Vic Farmer, getting in some pocket time before I re-build it to a better configuration..

While I was considering a SAK after seeing a couple of y'all carrying them yesterday, I think I will give the Queen City canoe some pocket time today.
