What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Starting the month off right

This is a beautiful whittler John! I love the color and texture of the bone, and the shape of the main blade. What pattern is it?

I'm not him, but that is a Case Seahorse Whittler. I have one i am going to dye the scales on, if I ever get around to doing it.

Thanks for that update Frank. I have often been intrigued by the sowbelly, but that tells me all I need to know, since I prefer smaller "disappear in the pocket" style knives.

That is just gorgeous! This or the red bone Case Texas jack are exactly what I would like to have next. Thanks for sharing it with us.

I agree on both. The old Schrade-Waldens are exceptional as are the Case knives. I'm a fan of the older red bone knife and am thinking about starting a new thread on pics of those

What is the top one? I like it.
Hi, That's a "Small Rounder" made by Jerry Halfrich. Closed length is 3 5/8", CPM 154 CM blade steel. The fixed blade is also by Jerry. It's his "Jack Russell" pattern. Jerry makes a sweet knife and I've never seen one sharper.

Thanks, Doug! I've put it to some use, that's for sure. It's Case's Seahorse Whittler, in stainless steel w/pocket worn harvest orange bone scales. Pattern #6355WH

It's Old Timers day here at the ballpark.

These two today

I'll admit I was never a fan of the Barlow pattern but after one day I really like it, it's like a peanut on steroids.

I wanted to take my 301 again, as i said yesterday, but ...took the peanut instead. No regrets for that choice. It done everything i needed, as expected, and i didn't even felt it in my pocket. It felt right, just perfect, so i guess i'm back in the cult after the stockman month. Love this little thing :D

Thanks gruntmedik. Is yours the same harvest orange? What dye will you be using?

I believe it is the Harvest Orange. I got it 2nd hand, so not sure of the official color, but it is definitely orange.

I haven't decided yet what color to use, I think I want to wind up with a Chestnut type color, but haven't settled on that just yet.
