New and Old Friends Friday

Praiseworthy pair of euro-friends, Rachel!:cool::thumbsup:

I feel like carrying a stockman today.
I think the medium Case is my favorite...
That's a ravishing red Case stockman, John!:thumbsup::thumbsup: Model 6318?

The stag and the horn are excellent on those two knives.
I appreciate (and agree with ;)) your assessment, John. :)

Goodness, what a handsome couple, Ron!:cool::cool:

Today I’m carrying this gem. Today is my last work day then I’m off for a week! Hope everyone has a great Friday! Thanks again @JB in LV
Your two-blade TC is Thoroughly Captivating!:thumbsup::cool: Enjoy your week off! :)

Another day with the SwissTank, and this red little alox number on my keychain.

I've gotta say, I'm growing very comfortable with EDC'ing a SwissChamp. ...

This knife makes every day a game to see what I can make use of next. Just yesterday morning, my daughter came to me with her set of denim overall shorts. The cheap thin metal buckle had become hopeless bent in the washing machine. I pulled the SwissChamp out of my pocket, and used the small pliers to bend the buckle back into some semblance of its original shape. While I was at it, I used the SwissChamp's scissors to cut off some stray threads. Then used the magnifier and eye glass screwdriver to tighten up the bows on her glasses, and sent her on her merry way. This knife is a father's best friend.

Enjoyable post, Buzz! :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:

3 knives with purposeful lives, David!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Thank you kindly GT. I feel quite fortunate. I love your Rough Rider collection. The Horn Lambsfoot is quite a nice one.
Harvey, I'm grateful for your support. :) Optimal pic of your Ancient!:cool::thumbsup:

Your sowbelly is swell, Gev!:cool::cool:

Thank you.
The Buck is a 302 solitaire, I believe it's essentially a single blade version of their 301 stockman.
Thanks for the ID, HnS. :) I once had a Chinese Buck Solo that was probably similar, but I awarded it to someone in my first BF GAW, back when I had NO use for single-bladed knives.

Thanks, Gary, and it never gets old seeing that perfect little stag Rough Rider stockman!
...
I am always stunned by how good looking your Stag RR stockman is.
Thank YOU, Jeff!:cool::thumbsup: I sure appreciate you making those stag RRs available. :)
Thanks for the compliment, Dean. :) RR medium stockman is very similar in size and features to the 897UH you sent me, I think.

These two, the orange farmer always seems to brighten my day.

Definitely a cheerful Farmer, Tom!:thumbsup::cool:

Arrived today, and already in use.

Magnificent knife, Jeff!:thumbsup::cool: I've never been a big GEC guy with regard to the frenzied sale periods, but I kind of regret not at least trying to see if I could have acquired one of those!:rolleyes:

Thank you for your comments, Gary. The Mini Muskrat pattern has been around for a long time; probably as long as the Muskrat. Like Case's Muskrat and Tiny Muskrat, the Mini Muskrat has no pattern number. The Mini Muskrat is the same size and design as Case's 6318 medium stockman (there most popular model). The Mini is very pocketable and much thinner than the stockman.

Prime Peanut, Gary! :thumbsup::thumbsup:
...
Day six of a week of redbone is a Case Peanut.

Thanks for the mini muskrat info, Dean. :) I may have to investigate that pattern and its availability. 'Preciate your giving my Peanut props, and I'll say "same to you" regarding your red Peanut. :)

Then the U.S. Mail came with a Flea Bay acquisition of an old SEO&S that someone really OVERCLEANED. ( Squire Elijah Oates & Son )
...It turned out to be a Smaller Than Normal sized one

It is even smaller than a TC 14 Barlow...
It does have Integral Bolsters...
The Snaps at 1/2 ,, Open ,, & Close are very good
Harry
Congrats on the Squire's intriguing little Barlow, Harry!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

For Saturday, a couple of favourites:

That's a pair to be proud of, Vince!:cool::thumbsup:

Thanks Gary, it was the first I had seen like it, too! Very nice choice of your Lambsfoot with a medium Stockman; you can tackle quite a few cutting tasks with those two!;)

My duo today are from the "Catt" family. I'm always amazed at the skill it took to put together such a handy knife as the Whitt-L-Craft! :)
Thanks for the encouragement, JJ. :)
Your Catts have a jigged bone bonanza going on!:cool::thumbsup:

Immaculate Böker copperhead, Dave! :thumbsup::cool::cool:

Dwight if you're taking a poll, I think of your two gorgeous stag Hartshead Barlows, I prefer this one with the big mark-side valley!:thumbsup::cool:

Today’s pair is a couple of re-works. View attachment 1152844Hope y’all have a sharp ‘n snappy Saturday!

I always admire your elk rehandles, Jeff!:thumbsup::cool:

Striking knife, Stuart!:cool::thumbsup: If you're superstitious about that "666" on the bolster, I've probably got room to store that Beast for you! :D

Special recognition and “thanks for showing” to all of you and your new Guardians and Waynorth Lambsfoots!

Nice fistful of working knives, David. Is the electrician current Case production?
Haven’t seen one in rough black before.
I bought a Klein just like that dirt cheap on the auction site, except not mint looking like yours. Mine had been mercilessly tortured and abused by a gorilla with a bench grinder, which made it a candidate for my own mods. I wanted one to reshape into a sheepsfoot, but would never hack up one in such good condition as yours.
Cheers!
I'm not sure, I'll check when I get home. It is fairly new and was unused, although I got it at a flea market. It has dark brown delrin covers, they end up looking black in pics though. I bought a klien 3 blade today that has an almost unused spear but the bench grinder been used heavy on the hawkbill. And a Camillus navy camp style utility, that the covers have shrunk and cracked. The Camillus has some major gaps and looseness going on. But it has a long bladed caplifter screwdriver. Bought them to mod, probably make a frankenknife. Frame and spear from the klien, caplifter from the Camillus. Use the leftover Camillus parts to make a 2 blade jack. Pics later of today's finds, got a wood covered Camillus tl29 with a faint USMC stamp on the cover that's in really good shape ;)

Thank you, Gary. I don't think case is currently making the mini muskrat (which I did not know when I made my previous reply). It's worth looking around for one though.

Travman Travman , that Whaler is a beauty. I'd love to land one of those someday. Is that a Great Pyrenees rolling around in the background of pic a couple pages back? Our Pyr pup is sitting next to me while I type this. Looking for attention ha!
That light colored dog rolling around in the grass is a yellow lab named Georgia.

In addition to the various categories of knives I carry each week as dictated by my rotation schedule, I usually carry 1 or 2 "free choice" knives each week as well. These are often knives that are too new to be on the current 45-week schedule, or knives that I just want to carry "on a whim". Here are the "free choices" I made for this week.

How do you like the barlow compared to the mini copperlock? I know they are very different knives but I have a very small number of traditionals and the mini is one of them.

I like it a lot. The F&F on mine is excellent and it disappears in the pocket. Nice action, too. It’s a bit smaller than the mini Copperlock in both handle and blade.
