What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Is that the 6347 with 3 springs, no krinking? I have a couple of those and think it's a very nice size. Why Case calls it "medium" is quite a mystery to me. I was looking at the large variety of Case "medium" stock knives last night and trying to identify the "defining characteristics" of each: length, shape, bolster shape, blade combos. I don't actually own one, but I'm quite sure my favorite would be the 18 pattern.

It is indeed a 6347 with 3 springs and amazingly thin for its size. The 18 is a favorite for many people; collecting them would be a daunting challenge.

The humpback stockman is a fascinating design; a commendable carry for a discerning knife knut, Gary.

Glenbad did a great job!

Thank you! It is a special one that I’m not afraid of using or having to baby it. It’s previous owner sure did know how to sharpen a knife the right way and never abused it. Blade is tight and still has strong crispy snaps. Your 43 is looking better and better with use! The Schrade 881 is a great knife and I need to stop neglecting mine.

How old is that black walnut tree? So cool that you grew it from seed!
Trying to think but nuttin happens!”
(My favorite Three Stooges quote...for good reason).
The walnuts, my oldest ones at least, are around 35 yrs old. For some reason, I can’t remember when we moved. I laid in a row of walnuts in the garden at our old house, and when we moved, dug them all up~ about 3 dozen~ and brought them to the new place. They were about a foot high at that point. Now, with all of the walnuts that I get, I dump wagon loads on the 7 acres across the road, so there are a lot of walnuts over there now too.
Of course, the squirrels keep planting them in my perennial beds and vegetables gardens.

In about 180 years, I’m gonna have some nice wood!

Thank you. Just a humble ebony 25 from 2015.

Sweet knife I’d be proud of!

I thought I'd give a nod to Queen Cutlery with two for Tuesday; the Large Gunstock Stockman and the Barlow, both from Schatt & Morgan.:)

Gorgeous knives, JJ. The bevels on the blades are pretty special.

That's a beauty, Alan.

I'm swayed by that fine knife, Dwight. Nail Nick 4.0!

#43 Oregon Trapper and black walnut,
and Schrade 881Y and white oak. Both knives are in my pocket, and I grew both of these trees from seed.

I'm very impressed with that walnut, Jeff, and equally in love with that Schrade. Great work on reforestation, pal.

Utica Jack and Waynorth LF

That Utica jacks me up, Steve.

It’s been a busy morning! Hope y’all have a great day! :)

Still a powerfully handsome pair, Ron.

Miller Bro’s boys knife today.

Lovely, Nick. Ain't Millers mesmerizing?

A great Trapper Stuart! And great to see you my friend! :D

Thank you, pal. You brought me out of my period of somnolence.

Feeling a little blue today.

That knife would make me burn with a blue heat, Harvey!

Today with Bulldog barlow 2007 on stag!!;)

Yep that's the one. Fine choices, Gary.

Well, look who’s back!

Camillus 29s have such great swedges on the clip. That’s a dandy.

When do we get the fishing report, Stuart?

Thanks, Jeff. The fishing was fine, hot weather for the week, but fish were biting. We scored lots of Spanish mackerels and bluefish while trolling, and ate them all (grilled and broiled) each evening. Here's a bit of knife porn from my fishing locker:

No fish pics, as my hands were either slimey or gripping a drink and not suited for holding my phone. Plus, the fish were dead.

While fishing with a very youthful (to me), and distracted, crew, I asked several of the younger guys (in their late-20's) if they could swear off social media for a day or two. Email was OK to see and pay bills. They took me up and two days later, I bought dinner and the bar bill for a lot of happy guys (who all admitted that they liked the break). I took the break a little longer and missed a good bit of this thread. Apologies to all for my radio silence - it was benevolent, not begrudging. I'm slowly coming up to speed for BF and my other internet haunts, but it has been halting.

Thanks for the compliments on my knives, JJ. :)
Very well deserved, indeed!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Three years ago, I had this knife in my pocket when our daughter, Eleanor, was born.

Since then, it's been my go-to carry for her birthday and any other special milestones. I've made a point to get a picture of her with the knife every year on her birthday, and I enjoy getting to share them with you all.

Here she was on her first birthday:

And last year on her second:

And here she is holding her knife today:

A belated Happy Birthday to Eleanor Barrett, hope you all had a great day :) Fantastic pics my friend

Excellent pairing Taylor :)

Premium pair, Jack!:cool::thumbsup: The SamDamLamb is triply desirable, and I like the looks of almost every version of that GEC #38 frame.

Another striking 25, Trav!:cool::cool: Ebony or Horn?
