What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Put this picture in the "Sunday Picture Thread" yesterday, but I'm carrying it again today so why not post it here also...

I was perusing the local flea market yesterday and found this Ulster Old Timer Barlow. I didn't have a Barlow and although it has a broken tip on the clip blade I had to buy it. I just have this thing about the Old Timer name.
A minute on the stones had both blades whittling hair. I absolutely love this steel.

Last shot I will post from Miami for quite a long time (sigh)

All I had with me was my strop. The edge hung in there for a lot of use through the week. I can't wait to get home to my stones and really set the bevel right. Never had the chance before I left.

Quite a nice little knife, although I do miss the FEEL of my slipjoint.

It's funny isn't it, I think for me the FEEL comes in when I am going to close the knife, with a slipjoint I usually close it with one fluid motion, many times one handed by keeping the spine of the blade against my hip. With a lockback and liner lock traditionals it seems to complicate this a little, either way I like em both, but there is definitely some kind of feeling that you can only get with a slipjoint.

Thank you! I have to concede that your knife has better markings than mine (No.21) but I'm very keen on my knife. More kind of mustard pickle colour :D Good thick, well radiused handles too. It got used a lot today as well. The Pumpkin Patch version would a fine knife to own.

These two today. S&M and a Case. I had to file down the kick on the main blade of the S&M. I could not get to the sheepsfoot till then. Much better now:D

I hope that your time in Miami was spent well; I feel the same about the desert in Arizona; I spent two weeks with some of the greatest people on Earth that I will probably never see again...

I cannot express how much I love that knife, I have been looking for something similar to this on the dealer's site that you sent me. (thanks a ton for that link, by the way) May I ask what it is about its 'feel' that you miss? I have an idea of what it may be, but it is nothing more than speculative at best.

Also, how do you carry yours? I have been looking at one of these to put next to my wallet and I was wondering what worked for you.

I've been carrying this guy (GEC #42 Missouri trapper) around since it showed up a week and a half ago.
I made the mod to the skinner blade almost as soon as it showed up - that was kind of the plan from the start.

I tell you what, I've yet to find another knife I like more for eating apples. The combination of handle length and the clip blade on this guy is a revelation.

Plus I really like how the spear point turned out too.
