What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Free choice #1 this week is this Case amber bone mini trapper that came with a cap lifter, but @black mamba had @glennbad swap it for the spey blade of a Case sowbelly stockman, creating the Beerbelly :D! Jeff was kind enough to send me this "byproduct" of the transformation.

Free choice #2 is a Rough Rider white bone canoe with scrimshaw (thanks, Rachel):

Two gorgeous and unusual knives, Gary; in a good way. I love the scrimshaw Rachel has done on two knives for you - such artistry!:thumbsup: You now have a unique trapper, too!:thumbsup:

Run’n round with a 77 today.

Tonight is date night with the wife. Something almost as sexy as she is.

That's a great paring, Joey! Love that pickle bone and that popcorn stag.

Had a day of Americana with baby girl today: Waffle House, voting, and a 3-year old's birthday party. It's only 6:30 and daddy is pooped out already. My dyed Case Beer Trapper helped with the waffles this morning.

Please forgive me for not responding sooner...my monitor gave up the ghost (smoked the board right in front of me :eek::eek::eek::eek:toast) expensive toast

Just back up and on ....on what is actually a not bad for free monitor from a nice lady next door...she said she scavenged it somewhere and it was collecting dust...and it was...and I'm happy it was...it works :thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup: I'll think of something good for her:):thumbsup::thumbsup:

Thank you kindly, JJ !!!!

Now back to work...yea:):)

Today's two totes are a pair of old pen knives; a slim Cattaraugus and a peculiar Canton Cut Co (1879-1927) with highly touted "Car-Van" steel.:)

A copy of the old "Car-Van" steel advertisement.
And I thought "super steels" was a recent invention :D:thumbsup: Wonderful old knives there, but please refrain from testing it by driving it through a bar of 1/2 steel stock:eek:

Shawn, are Jack and Vince on the right track in proposing Joker options for you? I thought you meant something more along these lines; say, slip joint vs. lockback:

Which of the four Jokers is your favorite, Shawn? ;)

Oh, man, what a tough choice! ;) I believe the models I ogled were NA111 and NA112, which look to be the two that you've posted, although your's may be the larger versions. I think I've settled on the lockback version hoping for a lighter pull. Could you shed some light on that for me? Is the pull on the lockback significantly lighter than the slipjoint?
