Old Italian Derby bolster and a Tuna Valley carpenter's whittler today:)

That pair had me seriously salivating, JJ! I have a "thang" for old "clamshell" Imperials, but I've never seen any as pristine as yours!
Thanks Gary!!! I'm in full agreement; these shellback beauties are amazing slicers!:thumbsup::thumbsup:
That Shadow is what an ultimate Penknife is all about, a major knife:cool::thumbsup:
Thank you very much Will!!!
Added a fixed blade to my truck knife assortment; older Buck 121 (late Fisherman, just before the switch to the 121 Guide). OH
Buck-121-Fisherman-late.jpg
Love those classic Bucks Bruce; my first fixed blade was a 120 for Scouts around 50 years ago!:thumbsup::thumbsup:
I appreciate your taking time to remark on our knives, JJ. :)
JJ, I like those strawberries, even if they're not fresh!:thumbsup::D
Shawn, are Jack and Vince on the right track in proposing Joker options for you? I thought you meant something more along these lines; say, slip joint vs. lockback:

My great pleasure Gary! Thanks, they are a form of "petrified strawberry!"
Beautiful pair of Jokers; the slippie is my favorite!:thumbsup::thumbsup:
Thank you JJ. Two cool knives. But that Canton Cut Co is way cool. So was the print ad for Car-Van Steel.
Thank you Harvey; that old advertising is pretty clever!!!:D
Very cool Cripple Creek; you certainly captured another sweet image!:thumbsup::thumbsup:
Quality pair of pen knives, JJ, especially the shadow pattern, and the old ad gave me a chuckle! ;):cool:
Thanks again Gary!!! I don't think I'd try to test their fantastic claim!;)
Free choice #1 this week is this Case amber bone mini trapper that came with a cap lifter, but @black mamba had @glennbad swap it for the spey blade of a Case sowbelly stockman, creating the Beerbelly :D! Jeff was kind enough to send me this "byproduct" of the transformation.

Free choice #2 is a Rough Rider white bone canoe with scrimshaw (thanks, Rachel):

Another couple of beauties Gary; love the wonderful transformation of your trapper and that scrimshaw is truly sublime!:thumbsup::thumbsup:
Thanks, GT. That orange bone jack is a little Keen Kutter, originally in bad celluloid. @Markesharp rehandled it and gave it to me. Thanks, Mark!
rfngPvp.jpg
Wow Rachel, your Keen Kutter is a slicing stunner; those covers are absolutely marvelous!:D:thumbsup::thumbsup:
Please forgive me for not responding sooner...my monitor gave up the ghost (smoked the board right in front of me :eek::eek::eek::eek:toast) expensive toast
Just back up and on ....on what is actually a not bad for free monitor from a nice lady next door...she said she scavenged it somewhere and it was collecting dust...and it was...and I'm happy it was...it works :thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup: I'll think of something good for her:):thumbsup::thumbsup:
Thank you kindly, JJ !!!!
Most certainly Gev; great to see you back online after your "toasty" experience!:thumbsup::thumbsup:
Very elegant Harvey; your second beauty from Sheffield almost flew under my radar!:thumbsup::thumbsup:
And I thought "super steels" was a recent invention :D:thumbsup: Wonderful old knives there, but please refrain from testing it by driving it through a bar of 1/2 steel stock:eek:
Thank you David!!! I really got a kick out of that classic old advertising with their "over-the-top" claims!o_O:thumbsup::thumbsup:
Awesome pair of Case lovelies you have today with your great "one hander" and your burley "toe"; very cool!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Great job, and a great-looking knife :)

Boker Nessmi

I always admire that Nessmi :)

Both are bonnie, Jack.

Thanks a lot Stuart :)

Today's two totes are a pair of old pen knives; a slim Cattaraugus and a peculiar Canton Cut Co (1879-1927) with highly touted "Car-Van" steel.:)

A copy of the old "Car-Van" steel advertisement.

Fantastic JJ, I'm going to have to dig out some of my penknives :) I love the ad, sounds like they'd have given Cold Steel a run for their money! :D

Stag/Horn Knife of the Week is a small horn Joker:

Thanks for the well-wishes, Jack. :)
Sounds like you derived plenty, and various, enjoyment from that baguette.:thumbsup::cool:
Notable pair of knives!

Carried the barlow this morning and decided to stop at the antique mall where I got it. Well the elephant toe was still there, however I couldn't walk away from it this time :D:thumbsup:. Probably ride in my pocket the rest of this weekend and maybe into the week as well ;)

Congratulations David :)

SW 856 and an old PAL today

Jack, your jigged bone WCLF and your Spanish custom are a pair that make me weak in the knees! ;):thumbsup:

Thanks again my friend, great to see those two special knives :)

That's gorgeous Harvey :)

Went to Apple Hill today...

Nice pickings John :)

Since I've been fiddling with my pen knives, I decided todays totes will be a couple more from Robeson; a split back with a beefy little main blade and a sleek PocketEze.:)

Another pair of stunners JJ :)

G'day folks, early afternoon here, but I had a lot to catch up with! Hope everyone is having a great weekend, particularly our Canadian members, and our Birthday Boys @Prester John and @cudgee :) Have a great Sunday

View attachment 1212622 I enjoyed the carpenter’s whittler enough yesterday that I decided to carry my other one today. View attachment 1212623 I had to bring our potted hibiscus in from out front because the frost is coming. This strange moth must have been on it, because he was hanging out inside this morning. Kinda fascinating ~ it’s a species that matures in the fall, and his wings look just like a brown leaf.View attachment 1212621

Love those classic Bucks Bruce; my first fixed blade was a 120 for Scouts around 50 years ago!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Thank you JJ. Hope you still have your Buck 120 - that was quite a Scout Knife! Incidentally, I went to the 50th Staff reunion at my old Scout Camp a month ago - I was on the staff in 1969. Among the information sent out prior to the reunion was the fact that sheath knives are banned in the BSA and attendees couldn’t have one with them! I had a Western Black Beauty 66 that I carried back then, was going to bring it, but I left it home. Sad, sad, sad. OH
Ps, my circa 1966 Black Beauty with its third sheath.
