What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Turns out I'm extremely "well-stocked" in my carries this week!

Sowbelly Stockman of the Week is a Rough Rider carbon steel model with yellow synthetic covers:

Coincidentally, my Stag/Horn Knife of the Week is a stag RR stainless sowbelly:

When I saw that my rotation schedule had already dealt me a couple of sowbellies, I decided to make one of my "free choice" knives this week a recently-acquired Black Box Winchester sowbelly stockman:

I also have my "regular" Stockman of the Week, which is a Case Caliber linerless LT347 model:

Ebony, huh? Thought it might be horn. Beautiful!

Yes, ebony. But looking at the wood in direct sunlight, I suspect that it is actually African Blackwood, which is often marketed as ebony. In fact, one of the French laguiole makers (I forget which one) specifically states that they get their ebony from Mali. Gabon ebony does not grow there, but African Blackwood does.

F-P does a nice job with the guilloche, each one being hand-filed and no two alike. Mine looks like this:

Interesting. I have two ebony knives, one of them Gabon ebony, which I love. But I am looking forward to receiving the 2019 Forum knife in African Blackwood.
That is a lovely specimen you have. I keep trying to tell myself I have enough knives, but then I see so many beautiful creations here.

Nice choices for the wooden day my friend!
I’ve paired these two wood covered favorites up again for today! :D
