What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Very nice JJ :) :thumbsup:

Morning folks, hoping to get a little 'normal' in before New Year's Eve, been a long holiday this year :rolleyes: :thumbsup:

Thank you Jack!!! Very tasty looking bread you've sliced with you quite tasteful HHB!:D:thumbsup::thumbsup:
To me, that's quite a rare pair, JJ; thanks for sharing your always-intriguing knives! :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:
Another charming couple of knives, JJ; I'm a real fan of spey blades, and love the looks of your Catt! :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup:
Thank you very kindly Gary x2!!!

Mighty fine foursome for your "decade-straddling" slicer set; some seriously cool looking ingredients you've chopped up with your Opinel!:cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:
Thank you and Happy New Year to you, JJ. Daddy Barlow’s are my favorite Barlow’s. Your’s is the reason why.
Thank you very much, and a Happy New Year to you Harvey!!!
Carb loading before walking with Linus and Ari. I just love Nan with olive tapenade.

Linus is certainly an excellent companion along with your delicious looking nan; another fabulous image!;):thumbsup::thumbsup:

Well, the writer doesn't sound very authoritative, and then says "both are right." Since there was no year "0", a decade starts with year 1. I like to think of 2021 as the first year of the next decade, and 2020 as the last year of this decade. But I ain't trying to force anyone to agree with me. ;)
So, when I turn 60 years old, I can say I'm still in my 50s for another year? ;)

I'm no mathermatishun, but I'll agree with GT. :D Bring on the new Roaring Twenties!
Some of my carries for this decade-straddling week:
I'll carry the 2019 Forum Knife, and something older:

No kidding. I got this one just to see it in hand and intended for it to be a catch and release. Even had it up for sale at a slight loss just to move it along. Then decided what the heck it's here let me take it along for a ride.... And it just feels right. Best slicer I own and the action can't be beat by anything else I have. Let me know when you're done kicking butt over there with therapy and we'll make sure there's a 44 available for you to try out again! Tackling this monday again with the 44 and I'm sure for the remainder of the year. Happy New Year!
Happy New Year! You are right about that 44. I had one like yours. Ebony on that frame is flat out beautiful. I should get another and hang onto it. Who knows, my nails and joints might improve enough to manage it. What I have is not curable but I have been managing it for four years. I am fortunate that I can enjoy our hobby. Learning about and having traditional knives brings me a lot of joy and being on the porch is icing on the cake.
May have found my favorite blade shape in this one.

Although I favor two or three blades I love that Ram Foot. Selling mine was another mistake. But I have learned that you have to keep and use a knife before you understand it’s worth to you, as you obviously understand. Beautiful user!

Old Quotes Alert: more holiday catch-up.

Many thanks Gary, if you'd seen The Avengers, I think you'd remember my friend :) That's a special and unique knife :cool: :thumbsup:
...
I'm struggling to remember what day of the week it is, but I've been enjoying carrying the Primble @Duckdog kindly gifted me with my Hartshead Barlow the past couple of days :) :thumbsup:
...
Thanks for the kind remarks on my amber bone mini trapper with the non-standard spey, Stuart & Jack. :)
Jack, you're sporting an admirable holiday pair! :cool::cool::thumbsup:

Home finally, after eight days in Colorado spending Christmas with our son and family. It was so much fun watching the 3&1/2 yr grandson and all his excitement. The 4 mo old grand daughter is a bit young to grasp it all, but she melts this guy’s heart.

So. After enduring a week of looking at all of the new 2019 Blade Forum GEC knives, I am hoping that our mailman has mine in the big stack of held mail.
Today’s my birthday, so I like how that works out!
In the meantime, my Bull Buster will do.View attachment 1255015

Thanks, guys. :) I was born within a week before Christmas, so I guess I qualify.

Really enjoying the time off over the holidays. Just lazing around this morning with a cup of coffee and a Lambsfoot :)

Handsome 2019 Guardians desert ironwood lambsfoot, Mike! :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:

I decided to carry my Texas Jack today; it is my 2019 knife of the year after all.

Deserves the honor you've awarded it, Dean! ;):thumbsup::thumbsup:

Just received this custom fixed blade from Evan Miller yesterday. It is sort of my design, the inspiration being the mating of a KaBar and a Mora. I have been cutting up boxes left over from Christmas, you can see the marks on the blade lol (they will rub off with an oil cloth). This may be the beginning of a fantastic friendship :).
...
Congrats on your big new custom fixed blade, Tom! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup: (Heck of a scout, too!)

Camillus #16 and a 194OT today
...
That's a feel-good duo, Steve! :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup:

Carrying the 92 Eureka in a new pocket organizer that I got for Christmas. Along with brass Hinderer pen and brass Olight AAA flashlight. Sort of yellow themed.
...
Congrats on the pocket organizer; that looks like a very nice set-up! :cool::cool::thumbsup: Do you carry it in front or back pocket?

I had my Smooth Ivory Bone 74 and 06 today....
Charismatic color-coordinated couple! :thumbsup::cool::cool:

Left Jekyll Island this morning and off to Savannah for a couple of nights. The girls are doing a 5K in the morning. Maggie and me will hold down the fort while they’re walking. I took this last photo of my Lambsfoot on the handrail going to the beach. :) :thumbsup:
...
Your PD lamb looks grand in the sunshine, Ron! :cool::thumbsup::cool:

...
5K Qs 5K Qs - GT, your Rough Rider is so cool.
...
I appreciate the good word, Harvey. :)

...
Terrific trio Gary; your 2 trappers are very interesting as I've never seen a "one armed" trapper nor a "short spey" trapper (nice job Jeff), very cool!:cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:
...
Today's totes are a couple from the pre WWII era; a fun little Cattaraugus Whitt-L-Craft scout and a stout Robeson electrician. :)
...
Thanks, JJ; glad I could teach an "old dog" like you a "new trick" or two. :D
Your pair of knives "redline" the desirability meter!! :cool::thumbsup::cool:

Today I walk with Parker Cut Co Stag Little Eagle.;):thumbsup:

A delightful stag lockback, José! :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:

An other version: " Do you remember the first name of Dr Alzheimer? That's how it starts."

Dan.
:D:D I like that joke VERY much; thanks!

These three are getting the lion's share of carry and fidget time today.
...
Tremendous trio, John! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

As I hoped, among the bundle of bills and Christmas cards, these new favorites were in the mailbox.
I need to thank @TheChunk91 for alerting me to the auction of this Craftsman whittler. I had purposely not been shopping around or even looking, but he knew I had lusted in my heart over his Craftsman whittler. NOS still in the Schrade style plastic tube, never sharpened (I took care of that!). American quality at it’s pinnacle!

The Forum Knife? Wow! American craftsmanship is alive and well!View attachment 1255585View attachment 1255586
Congrats on the two newest knives, Jeff! :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup:

...
This pair again today:

I think the second 45rpm record I ever bought was Cheech and Chong's Basketball Jones, and I'm jonesing for ebony after seeing your dynamite dark duo, Rachel! :cool::cool::thumbsup:

Vince, that just exudes class and elegance! :thumbsup::cool::cool:

I was spraying the lacquer the day my oldest son passed away from his injuries he got in Afghanistan:(. Couldn’t even look at it for a year and a half, but sucked it up and got back to it and finished it on this past Good Friday. So I call it my Resurrection Guitar. Along with his two daughters and Manny the dog, it’s part of his legacy for me.:)
Life is good-God is good!:thumbsup:
Moving testimonial, Jeff; thanks! :cool::thumbsup::cool:

I wonder if we will ever see this Red Stag from GEC again. To me, it is different than what we often see as Amber Stag. Does anyone know the difference? Regardless, even if they bring it back, the new effort will never look as good as the older versions with a shield!

Your post just before this one is beautiful Jeff, @Amir Fleschwund . I wish I could know you in real life. You are an inspiration. We are fortunate to at least be able to benefit from your wisdom through this forum.
Fantastic red stag, LT! :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:
And I totally agree with your comments about Jeff and his post. :thumbsup::)

These two today
...
Love that treasure chest, Steve (and the copperhead atop it)! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Saturday Stag.
...
Salubrious stag and crust, Dave! :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup:

@Leslie Tomville,
I’m just a regular guy, warts and all, far from perfect. But as long as I focus on my blessings, I’m alright. Just like most here on the porch.
...
IMHO, you sure have that right, Jeff! ;):thumbsup::thumbsup:

Ya, that trio could get it all done. :)
I actually ended up with SIX knives in my pocket at one time.
I did it just to prove I could do it, and to see the look on my kid's face when I preceded to unload my pockets. :D
Pretty addictive to carry a half-dozen knives, eh, John?? :D:thumbsup::thumbsup:

A couple of Swiss scouts for Sunday, both from Wenger. :)
...
Smashing Swiss scouts, JJ! :cool::cool::thumbsup: Is the bottom one from Eddie Bauer?

...
Morning campers, hope everyone is having a good...er, weekend :rolleyes: Starting to feel like Groundhog Day! :rolleyes: Sunday it is though, have a good one :) :thumbsup:
...
Jack, that jigged bone WCLF could certainly be your lodestar! :thumbsup::cool::cool:
