Here, '2020' was a vile-looking 'alcopop' from the early 1990's. I never tasted it thankfully!

I had a lovely walk in the Yorkshire countryside yesterday, with a bundle of knives, which included the Hartshead Barlow I'm carrying again today :)

Charlie's @waynorth Lambsfoot is so beautiful I have only used it lightly so far, but I'm carrying it again today, to look at and admire :) For me, the memorable event of 2019 was Charlie's health hiccup. like many here, I worried so much about him, but he came back STRONG, and gave us this knife  A great knife and a great man :) Wishing all our members good health and happiness in the coming year

Always enjoy seeing the TEWs you use, Harry!:cool::thumbsup: I need to get a "weather enclosure" I can install on myself for snow shoveling.

It pays to put things on your Big River Wish List. :D

Thanks, GT. I really like it and now I can stop looking for that perfect lockback.:thumbsup:

Doesn't the new decade start the first week of 2021? Of course, I could be confused, and I'm no mathematician! :D
Yes. If you consider the first decade ever it would be January 1, 1. It couldn’t start with year 0.
This LINK explains it better than I can but the 0-9 is a decade.

Ray
So, when I turn 60 years old, I can say I'm still in my 50s for another year? ;)

I'm no mathermatishun, but I'll agree with GT. :D Bring on the new Roaring Twenties!
...
Thanks for the link, Ray. :) (Your knife is sensational!:cool::thumbsup:) Rachel's opinion on this issue is very similar to mine. For me, the Roaring Twenties start today, the first day of 2020, and continue through the end of 2029. I know the argument for millennia and centuries and even decades running from, say, 1-1000, 1-100, 1-10, but it makes no mathematical or categorical sense to me, whatever arbitrary convention historians may adopt. The 20th century and the 1900s are identical to me (the distinction between ordinal and cardinal numbers is another whole can of worms ), and MY first decade runs from my year 0 (starting at birth) through my year 9 (right up to my 10th birthday anniversary).

Harry
Glorious bone on that pair, Harry!:thumbsup::cool:

...
5K Qs 5K Qs Thank you kindly, GT. Your Opinel looks like a great slicer.
Thanks, Harvey. :) Every time I use an Opinel, I wonder why I mess around with other knives if I just want to cut stuff.

...
Mighty fine foursome for your "decade-straddling" slicer set; some seriously cool looking ingredients you've chopped up with your Opinel!:thumbsup::thumbsup:
...
Thanks, JJ. :) That was an old photo of the cutting board, and I don't remember if the fruits and vegetables were chopped up for my breakfast oatmeal or for salad toppings.

Dragged this big old gun out today ;) A bang for New Year's Eve :D
...
Quality Queen, Will; looks capable of heavy duty!:thumbsup::cool:

Thanks, GT. :)
It was fun to carry all those knives that day, mostly for the entertainment value.
I don't see myself doing it again as one or two well-chosen knives is all I need and it doesn't make me feel like a weapons smuggler. ;)
Count me in! :D:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Thanks 5K Qs, but... What are you talking about?

Dan.
:p
