What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

I've never seen one of those before. Very nice looking knife in a great pattern. Looks in the 4" or more range?

Have a cigar, a GEC Cuban to be exact. (This things like stockman on steroids,* it goes great with the 2019 GEC, BFC, SFO, 86 framed Sailor’s knife. (which for the foreseeable future has a regular spot in my front right pocket)

A closer shot, you can see the rich oxide. Shame I can’t get it, (the coating) to set. As soon as you wipe it the oxide rubs off. For now, it looks cool and it’ll inhibit the red rust so long as it coats the blade.

* (@Dopic1 Thanks Scott, it gets carried regularly, one of my favorites and means a lot ‘cause it came from you. It’s a great knife too)

Thanks. That one is a 1996 National Knife Collectors Association (NKCA) Winchester whittler. It is a big one at about 4.5 inches closed. Queen made, it has excellent fit and finish. The snap on all the blades is wonderful. Queen made excellent knives at this time. It also has the type of Stag that I really favor. I like the valleys and ridges in the middle with the polished edges fading into the bolsters. My father-in-law gave this one to me. Here is a size comparison with a GEC #85.

Thanks a lot Harvey :) Info on Hale Brothers here

It was a beautiful day in southern Norway yesterday. For a while it really did look like winter.

I just had to take out my 'wellbeing hour' from work and take a dip in a lake just outside the town.

Practising my poor tracking skills on the fresh snow revealed that pure luck saved me from being caught 'in the act'. (Needless to say that when you act on impulse, you don't have a towel or swimming shorts on you.) Two sets of human tacks were following my footsteps only to turn away shortly before reaching 'my bay'.

Two for yesterday: one for trouble shooting and one for the joy of it.

Got the top one today, my middle daughter sent me a gift card, I made good use of it ;) well, my wife doesn't think so but hey, it was my birthday present....

Top one is the 3 rivet model in carbon blade and the bottom one is also a Messer folder, stainless with a nice Anchor inlay

Thank you Jack!!! After seeing your addition of the very nice 66 I thought I'd put one in my pocket, too!:D:thumbsup::thumbsup:

I'm really liking this GEC Calf Roper and figured it would make a nice tote for today. :)

Thank you very much JJ , nice choice :)

Smashing photo

Hope you have a good day Jack! It’s good to see your Drover! :)

Thanks a lot Ron, it's a knife I always mean to carry more, got quite a bit of use today too :)

Our rain totals are approaching the 5” mark since yesterday. I’m setting here this morning enjoying a cup of coffee and these two I’ve picked for today. I’ve got a 2019 Guardians Ironwood Lambsfoot SFO from Jack Black and a Northwoods Hawthorne Clip Blade in Orange Giraffe Bone. :)

Totin' the Queen Serpentine Single Blade Jack again.

Nice John

Thanks, Jack!
I like how you are faithfully sticking with your HH Barlow, and pairing it up with others.

A Wright Lambfoot in walnut, and Craftsman Whittler ought to cover my needs today.View attachment 1278662

Thanks a lot Jeff, I'm not sure how long it'll last, but I really can't remember the last time I took to a single knife like this, really enjoying carrying and using it :) That's a great-looking Lambsfoot you're carrying, and nicely paired

Morning All. Bit of a late night last night, so I'm moving a little slower this morning. Just finished brewing the coffee, so hopefully we're perking up soon ;)

Tossed this pair in the pocket for today.
