Thanks Andi! I think it looks much better! I always like how wood ages the more oils it pics up from your hands. Great knife :)
 
Thanks Kevin. I think wood is a great handle material. It´s a warm material. As well as any other natural material. Sweat and oils of the hands might have darkened the wood a little. Do you know if it´s stabilized wood? (I have no idea)
 
I doubt it is. From my experience stabilized wood is vacuum treated with epoxy so it will be glossy and it wont soak up oils.

I could be very wrong though :)
 
I don't think the Brazillian Cherry is stabilised, I have a #73L in it too and it is lighter when sanded (I balanced the scales out on mine a little), darkening with age. The name is misleading as it is actually a member of the Legume family. The grain almost looks like seeds, I kind of wish it wasn't jigged so you could see it better. Hard wearing, commonly used for flooring so I guess it stays pretty stable.

Thanks Nate. I picked it up from a fellow member on British Blades who had two, when I opened the package I could see why. The handle is carved from one piece of Ironwood and the blade is layered Damascus with a VG10 core. Blade retention is really good with similar pressure needed to open and close the blade as a slipjoint. The unexpected bonus for me was that it came with a nearly full height convex grind:)
