What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Your Whit-L-Craft is a very interesting pattern JJ, great to see it :) I like your Barlow too, who is the maker if I may ask?
Thanks a lot Jack!!! The Barlow is a Keen Kutter (EC Simmons) but I'm not sure who made it for them...o_O
Hartshead Barlow, '44 Gunstock, and a wee Linder Jagdnicker sent to me by Andi @Humppa :)

Very cool and interesting pair to accompany your HHB; at first glance I thought the Linder Nicker said "Under Nicker," a new take on the old "Boot Knife!":cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:
Thank you kindly, JJ. Lovely pair to start the week. Beautiful image. Great looking Keen Kutter Barlow. The Whit-L- Craft is equally nice.
Thank you very much, Harvey!!! The Whit-L-Craft really was a clever Catt

Quite the picturesque pair today; your J. Crookes is certainly an elegant old gent, wonderful!:D:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Actually in Slovenia you'll only see Lederhosen as part of traditional folk costumes, but in neighbouring Austria you see people wear them in public in the summer. Even in cities. As for Jagdnickers, I don't know how common they are today. I believe our hunters mostly use different knives although in the past they would be more common. Back in Yugoslavia many people went to work in Germany for years, sometimes decades, and they'd bring back Solingen knives as gifts for their friends and family. The quality was there before they started outsorcing and you didn't need to break the bank to get a good knife, unlike today. The words Solingen and Rostfrei were a mark of quality and even today people recognise them as such. And that's all I see in antique shops and fleemarkets around here. Knives stamped Solingen or some obscure mistery knife without any markings. Never saw a Czech, Bulgarian, Polish or Russian knife here. While people would bring back Soviet binoculars, cameras and such (in primary school I still used a soviet microscope and that was 15 years ago), they'd go for German knives and the occassional SAK. Today we still dont know about French knives other than Opinel, and seeing something from Sheffield or America would be close to a miracle ... :D

screened porch screened porch nice, a vintage one! Sounds like a great knife.

I'm afraid I've never been lucky enough to visit Slovenia Isk, I've not done much travelling for about 10 years now, but my last trip was to the Wildschonau, and I was amazed how common lederhosen were :) That's very interesting, I had a pair of powerful Russian Naval binoculars when I lived in the Middle East. If you PM me an address, I'll send you a Sheffield knife when things eventually start getting back to normal here

Jack Black Jack Black - Your Gunstock Jack is a handsome knife. The German fixed blade is old school cool, while the Hartshead is in a class of it’ own.

Many thanks Harvey, the Gunstock was a gift from @Campbellclanman , the Nicker came from @Humppa , and the Hartshead was a gift to myself! :D

Great photo Harvey, I love that old Sheffield bone  :)

Great pair of workers David :)

Thank you, Jack!

...

An excellent assortment today, Jack, that Jagdnicker intrigues me though. I may have to look into those a bit more.

These two for me today.

Thanks Harvey, the one I have is just a wee one :) That's a fantastic photo my friend, really shows off both knives well. A fabulous pair

A small lawn care business next to the school where I work went up in flames today...

I'm glad nobody was hurt Joshua

I've got nothing to match @JTB_5 Joshua's schoolyard sensation. I grabbed this Old Hickory to fix a bit of breakfast and held on to it like grim death today. It helped me cut some 550 cord for the car cover on the Trans Am (it's EXTRA windy here), then cut some wiring during a quick repair to a faulty tail light on the F150. Finally, it cut a lime wedge or two for a late libation. No folders were harmed during these adventures.

Great Old Hickory Stuart, and that's some fine-looking cornbread :)

Thanks for the info JJ :) LOL! :D Thank you my friend :)

Today's two are a toothpick and a trapper. :)

Nice pairing JJ, I was thinking of carrying a toothpick myself today, but then I remembered it was Tuesday, so I randomly picked this Winchester Doctor's Knife to accompany my Ashley's Choice Lambsfoot :) I'm also carrying this Sheffield-made 'Katar' FB, which has some things in common with the 'Town Pattern' Whittle-Tang knives, but is an uncommon Sheffield style

If you ever get the chance, you're most welcome! We're small, but we have lots to show.
My friend has an old Soviet camera, but as you can imagine, it works when it wants to ...
Mighty generous offer, Jack! Looks like I can't PM you but we'll figure something out. :D

I'm sure :) Your friend's camera sounds like my friend's Ural! :D Sorry Isk, I never thought! :( Well, let me know if you can (maybe someone here has your email address or something)

Lovely Lambsfoot pic

You know what, let's not reinvent hot water here. :p Send a message to EDIT and we'll get in touch, so we can work out the details since I have something for you too. ;):p

And here some knife content so the mods won't get angry ... This 33 won't leave my pocket. I love how much blade you get in a relatively short handle.

Got it Isk, edit away :) Nice #33

I’m sitting in truck in the parking lot of the Lab that I need to go to for blood work. For safety reasons they are only letting one person in at a time, so they will call me when I can go in. I’m glad I’m not alone, Case Pocket Hunter, Remington Bullet and Lambsfoot, all is good.

A nice Black Box Doctors knife Jack! A very versatile trio you’ve picked for today! :)

Just the Boker yesterday. It's so nearly a full-sized knife in a mid-sized handle. I was going to replace it today with the rediscovered Camillus, but the Camillus will have to share. The Buck linoleum knife is for cleaning up the dead grape vines I round-upped last year. I have sickles, but I don't want to hack up the stuff I was trying to save from the grape vines.
