Wow Jack!No apologies necessary Ron, thank you for your kind wordsI only have one of my JBK knives, and have only posted pics a couple of times over the years. At the time, chisel-ground military-style 'survival knives' were very much in vogue, so the U1 (the first knife I did) was a radical departure. Still the sharpest knife I own, and it's tough. I wish I still had the 4" (U1-4) variant too. It really had a lot of testing!
I sent one of the first to be tested by reindeer herders up near the Arctic Circle. Another couple went to two deer-stalkers working on estates here in the UK, they had a competition between them to see who could skin the most deer without re-sharpening, they were both well past a dozen when I last heard from them. I put a huge amount of work into those knives, but the fly in the ointment was incompetent and dishonest Sheffield cutlers unfortunately. Still, plenty of other cutlers and cutlery firms have benefited from the work I did on the steel/HT
