What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

View attachment 1381898
I should have had a hawkbill along yesterday, but the sheepfoot on the stockman filled in nicely. A good cleaning, edge touch-up, and some mineral oil, and it’s ready for more.

Yesterday was our last day with our 4 year old grandson:(.

Sounds like the good life to me. Tractor, family, sharp things, check check check.

Love that yellow 293. Great pattern. I’ve got to hunt a good one to add to my stash. Have a great one!

Camillus, Northfield, Olsen, Utica.

That sounds wonderful Ron, I hope you have an equally good day today :) I was up at 4.30am, so I might be having a nap later myself ;) :thumbsup:

Hope everyone's week is going well, so far. Carrying my regular pocket-hogging Hartshead Barlow again today, together with my Random Tuesday blind-grab! :D :thumbsup:

Thanks a lot Ron, that's another pic from my hike at the weekend :) Hope you're having a great day buddy :thumbsup:

Looking good, Paul! :thumbsup: Nice patina, and I’m jealous of your EO notch. :D Did you Ready Seal your deck again recently? ;)

Photographing polished blades can be a pain, constantly fighting against the reflections. :confused:
Thanks Barrett and I did. I clean and stained my deck in April:thumbsup:

Hey Barrett, all good here and hope the same for you guys. Please tell Eleanor that Nanc and I got a new puppy a few weeks back. Meet Hank:)...

Going with these two jacks from Robeson, English and Barlow. :)
Ravishing Robeson, JJ! :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup:

Just finished packing the rental car for a mountain vacation (and family wedding). Going to have these four with me for the next five or six days. Plan to get a little trout fishing and waterfall hiking in too. Won't be carrying them all at one time, but I should have everything I need to take care of my knife chores. OH
...
Hope you're having a great trip, Bruce; looks like you've got your cutlery bases covered! :cool::cool::thumbsup:

Cool looking bone, GT. :cool::thumbsup:

Couple of fine knife "influencers" represented in each of your pairings, Harvey & Ron!

We have two more days with our grandson before his other grandparents drive him back to Colorado later in the week. Right now, he’s asleep, my coffee is strong and black, and life is good.
Thinking biscuits and gravy sounds pretty good.View attachment 1380618View attachment 1380619Opinel No.7 in ash, and 1991 Case 6254 with Peabody Coal Co blade etch.

I'm carrying a Buck 501 Squire today.

And while we're at it, say hello to our Doxie "Utah".

Both 501 and Utah are handsome things, ED! :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:

Horripilification

Don't know the word (and had little luck looking it up), Gev, but I know a knife I like when I see one, and that Cattaraugus Barlow sure is one! :thumbsup::thumbsup:;)

Clay, you're the Baron of black Buck 300s; I enjoy seeing a specialist in action! ;):thumbsup::thumbsup:

Black Friday.
h9RwYsG.jpg
That knife is a winner, Dave! :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup:

Sure haven't seen too many of those Black Jackets. Really cool knife, Gary!
Thanks, Jeff. :) It apparently is a product of the company that bought the Camillus name after the original company went bankrupt. I happened to see the knife on sale at Menard's a few years back when I first became re-interested in pocket knives after about a 45-year hiatus. Pretty sure the carbon fiber on the handle is just a veneer/inlay.

Going with this "5 in 1" package from Germany, covered in stag. :)
Yowza, JJ, you're certainly barking with the big (bull)dogs now!! :thumbsup::thumbsup:;)

Today with Case mini trapper in stag.;):thumbsup:

...
Glad to see the golden stag on your mini trapper, José! :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:

Mellow yellow in pairs and trios, Jeff! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Superb sleeveboard! :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup:

And now for something completely different...View attachment 1380033
It’s not black. It’s not Buck and it’s not a stockman!
I have a very special knife on the way Monday that could very well change my carry patterns so I thought I’d change it up for a couple days to see what I think.
Definitely a change of pace for you, Clay! :) I really like the Case pen knife I have; I like the blades on opposite ends better than a jack configuration, usually, and the pen knife is only 1/4" longer than a Peanut I think, but it feels much longer than Peanut to me in use.

Simple Swiss Army 1 for today.
original.jpg
I think that's a great knife! :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool: I got one with a gift card my colleagues gave me when I officially retired a couple of years ago:

That beauty brings a tear to my eye, Dean! :thumbsup::thumbsup:;)

I am off out hiking tomorrow, and won't get a chance to post in the morning, so I'll bid everyone a very happy Sunday now :) Have a good one folks, I'll be carrying these three :thumbsup:

Useful trio for your travels, Jack! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

As Madonna used to say "Get Into The Groove" If I'm in a rut...with the carry don't blame me, contact @jsdistin about it ;):D

Hi John. Just remembered. It’s @birdvis

I don’t think he’s making scales anymore. I’m pretty sure he is making custom knives full time now. He makes some really nice looking knives.

Thanks for the information guys.
Sounds like he isn't doing it as much any more?
Also seems the only way to contact him is on Social Media, and i don't do that.
I would hop that Mike would start carrying some in his store, seems like an earning potential.

Looks like a very elegant office carry.
Too bad you don't work in an office. ;)

Such a great looking and well used knife... Love it! :cool::thumbsup:

Well photographed hollow grinds. :cool::thumbsup:

Notable pair - Exhibit A!
Thank you, GT. :)
