What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

What's the lower one? It's quite cool?
Thanx Standard.22, it is extremely cool, probably my most cherished GEC ...it's the 2531 Easy Open Jack, in Zebra Wood and 440C blade. Earlier today when I posted this pic I thought, hmmmm add 'em up and you get a Stockman, now that's cool :D

Today... my new #12 Powderhorn Jack is with me... Yesterday I used it pretty hard and the factory edge on the penblade was completelly gone by cutting cardboard boxes. While watching TV in the evening, the mainblade cut up some homegrown apples, made a nice patina (for the beginning). So I decided to give the knife a complete workout today and reprofiled both blades with an edge-antle of 20° each side. Now the blades cut like a razor... :)

Two today in the snow and sleet...my new "Town & Country" lockback from Jerry Halfrich (3.5" closed, CPM-154) and the "Talisman" fixed blade neck knife (Talonite, Carbon Fiber) made for me by my late and greatly missed friend, Rob Simonich of Clancy, MT.

Heading out to the polling place, carrying this special moose. Special in that it was gifted to me by Charlie(waynorth).

Beautiful knife Doug. Your pic inspired me to get Dad's 6332 out of the safe today and carry it when I go to vote.

What an awesome image, John! That's a worthy carry for such an important day.

Got this old Queen Steel jack knife in yesterday. I got it from a forum member in the trade section of this forum. Handles are in great shape and the blades arent too bad, just scratched up a bit and sharpened a few times. As you can see from the pic I used the old sandpaper and mousepad method to put a convex edge on her. It's pretty dad gone sharp now, small pen blade will treetop arm hair. Have a little fine work to do on the clip blade to get it to treetop. Gave her a bath with hot water and dawn dishwashing liquid, dried her out good with heated forced air, and finally a spritz or two of wd40. Blades now have great snap and it's a very smooth knife. This is only the second knife I have convexed. I figured Queen is pretty famous for needing the blade thinned a bit so it was a good candidate to convex.

It's just a cell phone pic, but I hope you all enjoy.

Thanks Vic. It is all black except some slight dark rich green hues at the four corners of the bone covers at the bolsters. It is my most challenging bone knife to capture since it is so dark and polished. Next time I take one of that knife I think it would be worth getting out my SLR and working with the lighting more :)

You're telling me that's NOT with an SLR??

I know what you mean about the bone. I've got a powderhorn with Antique Green bone and its very hard to get a good photo of it, in fact that's exactly why I don't have a photo of it yet.

Nope, old 5 megapixel point and shoot. I have had that camera for what seems like close to a decade.

I will work on my lighting better when I get a chance. I only use natural light so it is always dependent on the weather :)

I would love to see a picture of your powderhorn! Just post up a shot, I did not hold back with mine :)
