Awesome!

I've been carrying this GEC Bullnose for a while now. The steel on this thing is incredible. It holds an edge seemingly forever, and sharpens very easily. It's starting to get pretty beaten up looking, and I love it! It's not very fancy, but when it comes to cutting, I don't have many other knives that can match it.

I probably overdid it with my magic wand trying to show the covers

I never like to do that, but I did not feel like re shooting it. Hope it shows up better.

Now that you've done a bit more with the processing, that bone looks similar to the Antique Green on my powederhorn, the edges especially. I haven't had much chance to take photos lately, but when I do I will definitely try to show off the depth of color that I see with my eye.

Nice blue setup, ~P. :)

Cool pic P, how was the view from the top that day?

Thanks, guys. It's a happy day in Bluetown.

Sitflyer, I had relatively clear skies going up...

... and a small window of clear-but-HERE-COME-THE-CLOUDS at the summit...

... an initial descent seemingly into Middle Earth...

... and clear skies again, if under trees, near the bottom:

A great day.

In an attempt to steer back into Daily Carry, I tried to take another (decent) picture of one of today's knives:

Yeah, thats about as good as its going to get for that lighting. It may even show a little more than I see with my eyes.

Put the Vic Gardener in the back pocket of my jeans for a few hours of mulching, mowing, and raking this afternoon/evening.

Agreed 100%, I think that I want to own more knives in O1 because of how excellent the performance has been so far.
Mine looks the exact same way too....wait a minute...YOU STOLE MY BULLNOSE!!!! :p

:p No sir, this one's mine all mine. This is my first knife in O1, and I'm beyond impressed. I don't know if the steel is intrinsically that good, or if GEC is giving it an outstanding heat treat, or both, but wow. I've been using my Bullnose pretty hard, borderline abusing it for several months, to see how it holds up, and the edge seems almost indestructible. It will not roll or deform. I've carved multiple walking sticks and dozens of toys for my son with it, and I've only had to strop it a couple times to keep it razor sharp. I wonder why you don't see more knives in O1? My guess is because the corrosion resistance is so low. But it seems manageable, and is definitely worth the tradeoff you get for such great toughness and edge retention. I'll definitely consider more knives in O1 after this! I have another Bullnose in orange and a sheepsfoot Hay'n Helper with the glow scales on order. Because I'm an accumulator. The one in my picture would probably serve as a hard use, daily carry for a few decades at least, it is rock solid.

carried a svord peasant and the opinel.

silent john; the svord peasant plastic handles seem durable enough although i havent had mine very long or carried it extensively so i cant speak authoritatively. the handles dont seem brittle or anything like that.

Very nice! You have some excellent examples of high quality, no-nonsense, working man's knives there. I can dig it!
