What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

I’m finishing out the evening with some writing and a new Knifebrite Knitelite, which I scored from a giveaway elsewhere from my friend @Rupestris

I could not be happier with it!!

Beautiful barlow, Greg. The other knife is great too, but I love that barlow!

Thanks, Vince.:) My son-in-law called me when he was at an antique store and sent me a pic and asked if it was a good price, it was a very good price indeed. I said buy it you'll like carrying it, I have given him a few knives and the first was a barlow, he gravitates toward that pattern. I had no idea he was getting it for me, my daughter married a fine gentleman indeed.:D

I really likes the knives , the slips , and the photo Greg .

Harry

Thanks, Harry I appreciate the compliment.:)

Ain't nothing dull about carry a heartshead barlow all the time! Consistency can be a thing of beauty.

Thank you very much, Jack!!! The stockman is a Queen/S&M from the last year Bill Howard was still in charge.

Thanks for the info JJ, great stuff :)

That's a nice one Paul

Thanks guys. It is an interesting pattern. Fairly slim handle with a lot of blade (which seems common with French folders). I like how the edge is offset a bit from the handle, sort of like a Santoku. The only downside I’ve found so far is that the blade/handle combination results in a very high-sitting tang when the knife is closed.

(I’d call it a pocket killer, but honestly, the corner on that tang is less sharp the the square bolsters on the #23 I’ve been carrying.) :D

That's a great pic Barrett  The tang does sit high doesn't it, I think I do what Vince @Prester John does, and carry it in a slip? :) I've had some GEC pocket killers too! :D

Hope everyone's week is going well, so far :) Pairing my Hartshead Barlow with a random Case Peanut today

I was filing down the pin protruding in the blade well last night and also lowering the sheepsfoot further. I don’t quite understand why the stockman pattern leaves the sheepsfoot so high when it is pretty easy to get at the nail nick when it is lower. Anyhow, this knife has been really solid and takes a keen edge. A worthy user.
