What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Looks like another long pants day. Until the pockets of those 38 jeans loosen up, the cootie juice has to go in the main pocket and the knife in the watch pocket, and the slimmer the knife the better.

Thank you, fellas. Hopefully this post goes through - this blasted site is insufferable as of late.

These two for me today.

Hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend, and that you get some time to relax today :) Busy here, but I have my Hartshead Barlow with me, and this beautiful Canal Street Balloon Whiitler, a generous gift from a kind friend and fellow Guardian :)

Thanks Jack! Beautiful knives Jack. Hope you have a great day! :)

I salute your re-handling job too! I especially like that pocket sheath. Back pocket carry?

Not wanting to impose but would you by chance have a quality computer speaker that you would recommend? I have used the higher end Bose 20 series speakers for a few years and the bass in the left speaker has now blown twice in different sets. I want to step up to something of higher quality that will last. An increase in price is not an issue.

Thank you
No imposition, but I don’t know. Speakers in a guitar amp have a specific range of frequencies they need to reproduce, the cone and voice coil need to be matched to the power the amp puts out, and then you have to be able to choose efficiency ratings. The higher efficiency=louder and cleaner. I chose relatively inefficient speakers, wanting less volume and a bit of speaker break-up. All these are different than what you’d be looking for.
Is it safe to say Bose is making their consumer goods cheaper in asia, and using their name? Cannot imagine how you’d blow computer speakers!

Ok, serious question ~ WHAT IS A WATCH POCKET???
I always thought it was the little pocket above the right front pocket. Originally big enough for a ...pocket watch;), which, when pocket watches became antiquated, morphed into a “change pocket”. Along the line, they shrunk, too.
I find that they hold a Peanut, or similar sized knife only. If we are talking about the same pocket, how in the blue blazes do you fit a Mercator in there??? Sticking out the top, poking your gut when you sit? Straighten me out!:)
EDIT: that’s a DoukDouk, isn’t it?
Good morning y’all! Today is a special day! It’s our anniversary and our daughter is coming in for a two week visit. :D In honor of the occasion I’m putting these two special knives in my pocket! :)

View attachment 1409390View attachment 1409391Sunday/church totes. We resumed real church a couple of months ago. Our church is small, we have the seating socially distanced, masks are “supposed” to be worn, and so on. But they are getting a little lax lately, and I’m to blame as well. I despise wearing a mask for that long!
But if the Pastor’s wife doesn’t knock it off with trying to give us a hug, I’m leaving. No live worship music anyway, and as a musician, an I-tunes playlist run through a laptop into the PA just leaves something to be desired.
Sorry~ that sounds awfully like a complaint, doesn’t it!
Well, Church carries for me today. The Camillus 41 pen seemed like a gentlemanly kind of knife to replace my little Schrade jack in my “watch pocket”.

Hope you all have a Superb Sunday!

Like everything that is vague, there is no official watch pocket size that I know of. I wore Wrangler Pro Rodeo jeans for 25 years, until about 15 years ago when they quit sewing them in the USA (same USA cloth but different sewing - didn’t fit the same). At that time I switched to Carhartt, today I have their standard work grade cloth in both long pants and shorts as well as their bluejeans - and the watch pockets are all different - some small so only a penknife will fit, some a little larger where a medium Stockman will fit. Look at the “watch pocket” on these Carhartt jeans - you could carry a machete! The top photo shows a Buck 110LT that I stuck down in the pocket, but the bottom picture shows the same knife pushed all the way down. Funny thing is when you sit you cannot even feel it’s there as it turns with the pants, the lightweight LT further adds to the convenience of carrying a big knife undetected and unobtrusively. OH
