Thanks Jack!!!

I really like the pin-striped pen partner to your HHB; very cool shot of the stag covered beauty, too!:cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Thanks JJ, that pic is just taken on my mate's second-hand tool stall :)

Handsome trio Chuck :thumbsup:

Thank you Jack, it's obvious why the HHB covets so much pocket time:thumbsup:;)

Thank you Paul, I do enjoy carrying it :) :thumbsup:

Bit of a crazy day, though I have had these two with me all day. :)

Not too crazy I hope JJ :eek: You're well-heeled, as always, my friend :thumbsup:

These two for a good end to the work week.

Looks like a challenging project; good luck! :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:
The shield on one side is a fish, but what's the shield shown in the last photo??

Thanks GT! I'm glad that trapper is still earning its keep. Really like the white SAK you posted, super cool :cool: :thumbsup:

Two folders for me today:

Thanks, Tom. :)
Your blue Farmer and AG Russell lockback make an admirable pair! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

W:eek:W! What a wondrous wood whittler for Wooden Whittlin' Wednesday! :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup:

Thank you for your kind comments, Gary. I haven't the bravery to patina most of my knives although I have done so to several knives. A well done patina does look.
I can't remember ever having a rust problem on carbon steel blades once I get a patina on them, no matter how good (uniform gray is my favorite) or bad (speckled and rainbow-colored isn't really what I try for, but it often shows up along the way) the patina looks to me.

I'm carrying this Opinel today.
View attachment 1428898
That looks like a special Opinel to me, Dean! :cool::cool::thumbsup: Both blade and handle are shaped differently than the "stock" Opinels I've had, and the wood (what species is it?) looks nicer than the standard beechwood.

That's a champion pair of pocket knives, Jon! :thumbsup::cool::cool:

Breathtaking stag 73, Duane! :cool::thumbsup::cool:

Today I'm toting these two, one in "lightning wood" and the other in ebony. :)
Appealing ligneous pair, JJ! :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:

Holy Cow!! :eek::thumbsup::thumbsup: I'm a fan of Rough Ryders and try to keep up with what they're up to, but I wasn't even aware that RR was making knives like this, including a canoe! Unfortunately, it looks like I may have missed them.

I've always been a sucker for red bone stockman knives. :cool::thumbsup:
Thanks, John, I agree that it's a handsome knife! :)

Good Morning and Happy Thursday
TRex-Caliber!! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:;)

Fab 4 Gary :thumbsup:

Yes indeed my friend, taking my Hartshead Barlow out of my pocket took some effort! :D :thumbsup:

Had these two with me today :) :thumbsup:

Thanks, Jack. :)
I can imagine the blood, sweat, and tears you shed in trying to impose your will on that stag HHB! :p:thumbsup: It pairs well with that big Black Jack! :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup:

I’ve got my Wright’s large Rosewood Lambsfoot and my Case Tribal Lock CV in Pocket Worn Whiskey Bone today. Y’all have a good one! :) :thumbsup:

Artisanal pair, Rachel! :thumbsup::cool::cool:

I just this morning took this group picture of my Case knives - left out my Whaler darn it:( and then discovered I couldn't fit all of them in my jeans pockets - sooooo, I'm sitting here pondering which one or two I'll carry today.:rolleyes: This might take awhile.:eek:

Lot of auspicious Case knives to choose from, ED! :cool::thumbsup::cool:

That's a nice group of knives today, Gary. The Boker stockman is a gem.

Thank you, Gary. The plant is something that grows tall every year with lots of flowers. My wife cuts it back every year.
Thanks for the kind knife comments, and for the botanical info, Dean. :)
Striking photo of your Farmer Jack and Robeson; that Pocket-Eze is arresting! :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:

Thanks GT, in truth I usually include lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, pickles, grilled onions and Fritos in my sammich' construction, but was more in mood for a caveman version :). If you will pardon the pun, your cracked ice Imperia is very cool :cool: :D

These two for me today:
...
"Caveman version" :D Maybe I should have sandwiches like that more often, since I have kind of a Neanderthal head! :rolleyes:
As usual, I enjoy your fixed/folder pair; what is that wooden folder with the bail?? :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Another excellent quartet, Gary; the Buck canoe is quite amazing, as well!:cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:
...
Thanks, JJ; the Buck stag canoe is one of my luckiest finds, I think. :)

These two today

Fine Friday pairing, Jack! :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool: That striped penknife is distinguished!

I’m havin an Old Time FridayView attachment 1429828View attachment 142982933 I bought in the 70’s, and carried alongside the yellow trapper for years,

Happy Friday to all.
Tremendous trio, Jeff! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:
What do they say? "You are what you carry." Way to go, Old Timer! :D

Dreary Friday, but my pockets are full and the family is good. Can’t ask for much more.
Amen, Brother! :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup:

Our Daily Bread . Rye, Wheat, Linseed and Sesame Seed. Dug out this Chestnut Bone cv Sodbuster, it won't slice bread but you can get ultra thin tomato or sausage slices if you like ;)

Those chestnut jigged bone CV Case SBJrs are such fine examples of the marriage of form and function!! :cool::cool::thumbsup:

Hey GT.......if we can get 'em over here in lill ol' England, I'm sure you still can, sir.

Today I tote these ~ a Case Sodbuster re-done in elk antler, and Schrade 194OT.View attachment 1430545This is my favorite view of the 3 7/8” dogleg Schrades.
View attachment 1430543 View attachment 1430544 The antler is better looking on the pile side, which illustrates the conundrum of using antler sheds cut and packaged as dog chews. The side I used on the mark is faded. Likely bleached out by laying in the sun. I guess wherever this was dropped does not have as many rodents as we do around here, because it had to have lain there quite some time. Around here, whitetail sheds are quickly ruined by mice hungry for the minerals.
Anyway, I had that piece on which the curve and wider end perfectly matched the shape of the Case.
The big flea market is this weekend, so if I finish at the farm in time, and the rain holds off, I could go see if the elk antler vendor is there. They have bushels full of prime stuff, but their prices are spendy.

Thank you for the info on your experiences with patina on your knives. Regarding the Opinel, I think the wood is Walnut. I like the blade shape better than the regular Opinel.

Thank you for your compliment on my Farmer Jack and Robeson photo. I agree the Pocket-eze is arresting, but it is so small I don't think I will get arrested carrying it!
