What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

I actually carried these yesterday and today : The Northfield is a 610211 Serial # 20 and the old knife is a Horn Covered Schmachtenberg Bros. from Solingen 1887 -- 1939 which I watched for 6 months in an Antique Mall .

The Stamping on the Schmachtenberg blade is an AXE . I have never sharpened it but it came to me pretty sharp . The Horn Covers may have shrunk just a little . The Liners are Brass and the Blades are carbon . The Northfield is one that I had wanted for a while , because of the UNXLD stamping on all 4 Bolsters , and I got it off of the Exchange for a very good price . It is One of 35 Serialized pieces and the Serial # is also on the Coping Blade . It also has Steel Liners .

Nice finds.

Needham Brother "Repeat" split back in Ivory. Lovely touches in how it's put together.
Another wonderful old knife.

I'm carrying a couple newer knives that could be someone's wonderful antique find in 100 years. (assuming we aren't all just heads in jars by then)

Two equal ends today, Boker Magnum scout and Churchill. Put the Churchill sheep foot blade to use today in the shop after work, cutting leather.
Making 8 plains style arrow quivers as Christmas gifts, 4 for my son in laws and 4 for grandkids.

Thanks!! You gave me a business idea for next year, there's probably enough knife knuts out there.

That old Schrade bone certainly has an Old Friend look to it:thumbsup:

Thank you, Jeff; it is an occasional and fun carry.

This is my weekly compliment to everyone on all the cool knives and creative photos!
I’m having me a good old time Schradurday with these Old Timers...

No, I didn’t actually use the saw to cut it down, but I did use it to trim a couple branches off the bottom when I got home.

Beautiful Cross shield Victorinox, Jim.:thumbsup: I 'trimmed' a tree with a Vic saw once; there's a lot of sap in those pines!

I have one of those too and while it does not have the association yours does, they are super knives. Bonestag 6.5 is the grip :thumbsup:

Regards, Will

Hello, Will! I agree with your comment. :) Mine has one peculiarity: On the Sheepfoot tang it has 6318 rather than 6.5318. At least, I think it is peculiar. o_O
