I consider Ebony Jacks to be the Platonic Ideal of "pocket knife"

It always does my heart good seeing you carrying that scout Jack. I feel like I would be partial the pattern even if I didn't have my family history reasons, but they are handy little tools, meant to be used. Glad to know it gets some exercise.![]()

Especially a bare-head. Might want a shackle though, if the county fairs ever come back.Thanks. It's a bit of a mystery, as I can't find info on the company.

Cool website. My name is not on a knife. I have other names, though, I could check.R8shell, don't know if this is the same "Jones", but I found this: https://www.hawleysheffieldknives.com/n-fulldetails.php?val=j&kel=809
Decided I don't need a large piece of "sharp steel" in my pocket anymore. So I'm carrying this nice, little #15 Boy's Knife in ebony. I modified the spearpoint main blade to a clip not long after receiving it (no clip points available at that time). It's the size that you don't even notice in your pocket...until you need it! (With apologies to Carl/jackknife!)

I don't think it's that Jones, since mine is stamped 'Germany'. Thanks for the link, though. I've bookmarked it for future reference.R8shell, don't know if this is the same "Jones", but I found this: https://www.hawleysheffieldknives.com/n-fulldetails.php?val=j&kel=809
Thanks, Jack!Got to agree withscreened porch Rachel, that's a beauty
Great looking Wadsworth. I have a barehead of theirs, but it's in bone. (second best kind of Jack Knife)Especially a bare-head. Might want a shackle though, if the county fairs ever come back.
I don't have a lot of them, but the ones that reach out and grab me are often A.W.Wadsworths.

Looks a bit red in this light, but I think it's ebony.
