I’m so sorry to hear about your good friend Ron. I was looking forward to seeing you both this upcoming summer in Titusville when we are all safe and vaccinated. We will all miss him. I am missing him.In 2017 Half/Stop Ron and I traded & bought or sold some knives . I have been carrying these same 2 for 4 days now & will continue to do so for a while yet .
They are 2 that I have seldom carried because I was figuring on giving them back to him some day per our agreement then . Since I am 80 and he was 66 , it only seemed a natural thing to do .
Harry
Truly a very special pair of knives.
Sweet combo carry, they look good together.
Nice picture and beautiful knife, Jack. Hope your back eases up soon.
Grand old Jack knife. A classic!
Great idea for a tribute to Ron, ED!Since hearing the news of Ron's @Half/Stop passing yesterday I've been carrying this Rosewood "Big-un" and will continue to do so through next week and into the New Year.

That ole Ron sure did like his "Big-uns".RIP Ron
Thanks for the info on your tools and processes, Jeff...
Thanks, Gary! I have a bench grinder, as well as a combination 8” disc/1”x36” belt sander, yes. More importantly, I have a piece of flat marble for a sandpaper backer.
Power tools will ruin a blade super fast.
The disc/belt sander gets used more in schaping (you know I like Schrades) handle scales ~ getting them flat and sized, and later, after pinning, final shaping.
I mean schaping.
I think your dog is giving you a look that suggests that it could be an even lazier day without your photographic efforts, Mike!Texas Jack today, hanging out on a lazy Sunday morning

Amen, JJ!Thank you very much, Gary!!!
Ron was certainly a very special person, he will be missed.
Notable pair, JJ!
Very cool!Poorly executed photo but today was the Case 06247PEN.

My best Hank Jr. voice is not very good, unfortunately. In your best Hank Williams Jr voice.

Statistical Process Control suggests that a long enough string of flukes is convincing evidence in a change in the underlying process! Thanks very much, but no- must be a string of flukes.
That's a very classy Böker Barlow!!Three of my favorite things in one photo - kinda.
Traveling the Desert Southwest is mostly on hold for now, but I can research and plan, and start visiting stuff close to me that is open and available.
Photography. Although it's been a bit more limited this year. Just a hobby, but I love it. My grab-n-go camera is the little Fuji X100F.
The Boker Barlow Expedition that I chose as my best traditional knife purchase for the year. It's going back in my pocket again, for at least the remainder of 2020. I like it so much, I may buy another as a spare.

Thanks for the additional info on that handsome stockman, Dean.Thank you kindly, Gary. Regarding my Amber bone stockman with threaded bolsters. I have that one next to me as I watch TV right now and it is on my nightstand at night (probably why they call that a nightstand).
You chose wisely!
By the way, it looks like you are caught up.![]()
I love the the way translucent blonde horn looks on the more sinuous styles of European knives. The pin work and backspring are icing on the cake!Blonde Horn locking Lag today.

Very cool!I could be mistaken, but that looks like a photo you might have sneakily taken in church, Michael!

I am ready for the Holidays!
Travman , that is a beautiful Gun Scout Travis. And to have gotten it from such a great person as Ron must make it even more special for you.
@Pàdruig , I love that pairing of a Black Plum Mustang with an Ebony Lambsfoot! It is a nice twist on your signature red and black. I tried to mimic that with my red and charred oak Beer Scouts, but it is not quite the same. I have a teaser for you Dylan. In a few days or a couple weeks I am going to post a photograph of an actual merging of Black Plum and Lambsfoot. Stay tuned!
@paulhilborn , I love that Albers Paul. I can just see that as a TC Barlow. Any chance of something like that happening Charlie? @waynorth
I sure hope your back improves Jack.Jack Black
AndCorto_Malt does it again! Yann, I have seen photographs of French knives, but your knives are just at a higher level of aesthetics. Could you please give us some information about these knives along with your amazing photographs?
Our early Christmas celebration was a success and much fun.
Our guests got tested and quarantined before gathering last night, so everybody felt comfortable.
There was lots of good food, family, kids opening presents with excitement, and lots of clean up afterwards.
The Lamb helped my cut my Tri-Tip...
and the new Eureka Jack helped my open lots of presents.

Thanks for the info on your tools and processes, Jeff; sounds like you're in good schape
for knife modding with that set-up. (I've only done one blade modification, and I used a file to do it. It was faster than I thought it would be, but the blade was an Opinel, so relatively thin.)
I think your dog is giving you a look that suggests that it could be an even lazier day without your photographic efforts, Mike!

And you're correct – for a moment or two on Sunday, I was caught up with this thread, but that's just a fond memory now.
