David in a Chevy. :eek:
Super nice of your Dad. :cool::thumbsup:
Don't worry, Chevy makes good trucks too. ;)

Trapper Tuesday. Hope everyone's week is off to a smooth start.

My wife and I are trying to navigate around eachother this week, as we're both working from home. She's teaching remotely until next week when they go back to class (fingers crossed :p).

That boney looking wood on your Trapper looks great!

Your Camillus is a sleek beauty, Gev! :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:

Toting these two red boned jacks today. :)
Another pair of regal red bones, JJ! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

I'm carrying my Case 3318PU stockman today.

Exemplary, Dean! :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup:

Notable pair, Jon! :cool::cool::thumbsup: If I had to pick only one, I'd go for that boffo Barlow!

My semi-regular carry of the Case 6308 for the past three months had me digging through my collection, gathering Whittlers together. Biggest and strongest one I own is a Case 6380 - carried it today. OH
Case-6380-Whittler.jpg
Holy Cow, Bruce, that's a ravishing redbone whittler! :thumbsup::cool::cool:

...
I went with this pair for the day. 1989 bone handled Winchester sowbelly stockman and a 2012 ebony Schatt & Moran single spear blade jack.

That sowbelly stockman is A-1, Greg! :cool::thumbsup::cool:

Thank you GT! I miss your Otter Messer Workknife.
I'm surprised you remember my Workknife; thanks! :) I checked my rotation schedule, and the Otter Workknife should be with me for a week 8 weeks from now. :rolleyes:

I sure appreciate your kind comments, Gary. And yessir~clip, sheep, spey.
More fun than Dip sheep, and spey!
...
:D:thumbsup:

Thank you! Wasn’t sure if anyone would get the reference!
I miss a lot of stuff, but there are still lots of songs from a certain era rattling around in my head! :rolleyes:

The week opens with a lockback ;)

Illustrious stag 83, Will! :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:
(I like your new sig quote. I've never read that from Burroughs, but I once told my father that a political candidate he favored was, in my opinion, "at best criminally insane, and at worst evil personified." That did not go over well.)

...
Brilliant! :D Thanks buddy :) Hey, you might be onto something there! :eek: :D :thumbsup:

Have a good week folks :thumbsup: Pairing my regular Hartshead Barlow with a Metal Monday J. H. Thompson Sportsman's Knife today :thumbsup:
...
Maybe I should rethink my affection for sowbellies given their possible influence on my physique! :eek::D
Fine Monday pair, Jack! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup: I can never remember if Monday is for Micarta, or Metal, or Marbles, or Marlin spikes, or MAMs, or Martinez, or Maple, or Mini Models, ... :rolleyes:

I really like your copperhead, and my wife really admires the sketches! :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup: Are the sketches yours?

It is a small clip blade, very handy.

I had to research it too, GT.
Turns out it's an improved 440C.
They added molybdenum for hardness and use an electrical current to melt it in a vacuum.

It's always fun as long as nobody takes it seriously. :)
Thanks for the info, John. :cool::cool::thumbsup: I think different types of steel is still quite a ways down my list of knife-related things I'd like to learn a fair amount about.

Needed to get back to using a Lambsfoot, so they will be sharing duties.
Major-league pair, John! :thumbsup::cool::cool:

I’m seeing double today.

Another notable pair! :cool::thumbsup::cool:

Such a handsome mini trapper, José! :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:

Hey! i only laid it down for a minute!:D

Wives are awesome. Back before we were even married, but were dating, if drinking beer, playing foosbal, and seeing live music can be called dating, my future wife found a Victorinox Champ on the quad outside the student union. Back then, she didn’t carry a purse, and it was “too fat” for her tight blue jeans.
I’ve been holding it for her now for forty years.:D
Good story, Jeff! ;):thumbsup::thumbsup:

Two GEC totes for today with four different blades; very handy. :)
You have a real "variety pack" of blades there, JJ! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

I taught courses for the U.S Dept of Defense in many different places - one was Germany. Students that worked for DoD around Europe, whether U.S. or local employees, that needed my class traveled there to take it. The class had to do with destroying weapon systems (rather obscure topic). And that is how I taught the Italian students in Germany. :)

As a side note to our language conversation, I once had students from 8 different countries in my Germany class. Before the class, I asked the various students how to say 'Good Morning' in their language. Then I greeted them in their own language for the rest of the week.

Thank you for the kind comment about my Case Teardrop (obligatory knife content).
Thanks for the additional info about your teaching, Dean; sounds very interesting! :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup: I like the way you handled the large amount of national diversity in the class you described.
Your small Texas jack is a classic! :cool::cool::thumbsup:

Ya, I don't care too much for knowing everything about steel types... Case CV and SS have served me well.

Major-league pair, John!
Thank you, GT. :)

Cool Cadet, GT. I like the striped Alox?
I need to get another Cadet, I have a habit of buying them and giving them away.

That sounds like a very interesting life Dean .

Harry

It was, Harry. Now I'm retired and life is drastically different.

Exemplary, Dean! :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup:

It's always good to see your Cadet 2; I wish Victorinox would go back to that pattern. :thumbsup::thumbsup:

overnight I went from a dedicated Ford guy to a Chevy guy
Ha - I've owned Chevy, Jeep, and now a Ford pickup - I don't care what brand my truck (or car) is as long as the dealer treats me well during the sales process, and especially during the warranty/service process afterwards.

Holy Cow, Bruce, that's a ravishing redbone whittler! :thumbsup::cool::cool:
I feel like Batman wrote that line! Thanks bud!

I think that is the coolest looking ALOX I've seen - the ribbed finish is new to me.

C Comfortably Numb - welcome to the Traditional's Sub-forum! OH
