What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Paul those are great examples of Case red bone and the older shields, love the scales on that serpentine jack. I wish Case would really make red bone red again

Paul, the bone on that 087 has sure worn down beautifully!

I really like those heritage knives and that one looks great with the patina. It just looks more like an old aged knife, I like it!

Here's what's in my pocket today-This started out being the worst purchase I've ever done. Very dull, and the fit and finish were horrible. When it first arrived and I saw how it was, I didn't even want to pay for the shipping back, so I almost thru it in my tool box for a tool box beater-literally almost thru it. But decided to experiment, first I hit it with the wicked edge, then I spent about 1 1/2 hours sanding the knife with 600 grit and finished with 1200 grit to get the scales and metal flush. Then I remember someone talking about forced patina-I used alittle heinz yellow mustard, and must admit I actually like this thing now. It still has slight gaps in the spring area (lack of terminology), and a slight blade wiggle when closed, but it is as close toView attachment 315896View attachment 315897View attachment 315898 a perfect size for me. The patina I really like, almost damascus-blues and purple colors mixed with light greyish.

Nice one Elliot! "Forged"? You don't hear that around here in reference to a folder very often!

Thanks, Mark. You're right, although I do have some forged 52100 pieces from Ray Kirk and P.J. Tomes both of whom are also master smiths.

Her Boker, red oak keychain I carved, and beech strop I made for her to follow after her sharpmaker. She is EDC a carbon opinel OP6 trying to get the hang of sharpening and carbon steel care.
