Thank you, sir.Great looking canoes!
Thanks, Jack....
That's quite a hike Gary!Quality quartet there, I don't recall seeing that Beer Barrel Canoe before
...
Admirable knife, Will!CASE again. I like the cv Chestnut Bone Sodbuster, enough blade (very keen) and a slim carry, doesn't look too bad either...
...
That's a nice pair of knives!Yesterday and today

That Camillus is king, but that's some very appealing saw cut bone on your TC Barlow, Steve!
I ALMOST posted one just like that in the "If you could carry only one" thread, Dean!
Gorgeous Case 18 medium stockman, Bruce!@robertj298 started a new thread, ‘If you could only carry one’ that had me post about the 18 pattern Case MED STOCKMAN. Then @mcc850 asked of all the 18 patterns I owned, which one was the favorite. Of course I answered, we all love talking pocketknives here, but I had never carried my favorite and its also my first 18 - so today I fixed that - this one will see more pocket time in the future as well. Feels good to carry a new knife made in 1977. OH

Great looking knives, really like the Case Sodbuster! Sometimes the amber bone can be kind of light, yours looks nice and dark, very sweet!
...
Tasty-looking trio GaryI like the bone of your Sodbuster
...
Thanks for the SBJr comments, guys.Spectacular looking bone on that one, GT.![]()
Very cool jigged metal custom, LT!
I always admire your stag mini trappers, José, but this Red Bone version is unforgettable!
Nice pair of recovered knives that display your talents, Jeff; I especially like the stripes in the walnut!
That's less than ideal for your hands in cold weather! There's a bit of fresh snow on the ground today... might be a good day to ski. It's only a little bit cold...about -18C (around 0F) with the wind chill. My hands don't really do well below freezing. I have Reynaud's syndrome, so my fingers turn white and loose some feeling.

High-class pair, John!

I think a Churchill must be a knife sort of like some basketball players about whom announcers say, "He makes everyone on his team look better." I think any knife you pair with your ebony Churchill looks better by association!Remington Dogleg and a Churchill

Your dark duo doesn't even give the boxes a sporting chance, JJ!
The clip and sheepsfoot on opposite ends makes that a highly desirable knife!!The 2015 BF Serpentine Jack is the one today. Now y'all have me thinking about clam chowder!! Sounds good on this cold Friday.

Terrific trio, Jim!Been busy enough at work I hadn’t posted any knives at all. Had the Russell for a couple of days and then the Pony Jack for a couple.

Today I’ve got a Soldier in my pocket.

Love the "jigging" on your pipe and on the WCLF, and congrats on the fetching Queen Barlow, Dylan!A mainstay and a new-to-me Barlow for me today. I hope everyone has a great weekend!

That's some rousing red, Greg!...
Went through my collection for today's carry and red caught my eye. These two got busted outta the dark depths of storage for the day.

Thank you John! It's an absolute Gem too.![]()
If you win buy yourself another Zippo or maybe a Case Trapper (if they run one) - they’ll be much harder to break! Nice set of game supplies you have there, don’t forget the hors d’oevres!Game day paraphernalia: black Boker in hand when Bucs are on offense and red Case in hand for defense! My son broke the shot glass commemorating their first Super Bowl win, he insisted on fixing it with hot glue.I like it so much better now! Good luck Chief fans, but GO BUCS!

Thanks for the compliment! As to your question about the position of the sheepsfoot - I assume it’s just to keep the nick on the sheepsfoot far enough above the pen that you can reach it easily, but it does seem a little more than necessary on this one. It sort of resembles a submarine doing an emergency surface, doesn’t it?That's a nice pair of knives!
(But I have to post my periodic question: why in heaven's name do they make some stockman knives with the tip of the sheepsfoot blade waving in the breeze like that???)
- GT
Yes sir, I do my best!Thank you, sir.The buckshot bone from Colt (and later Rough Rider) is interesting jigging, and IIRC you have some first-hand experience with Böker's wood covers, don't you??

Really nice coloring on that red bone, Jose.![]()

It frustrates me that my hands don't cooperate in the cold, especially since I enjoy all kinds of outdoor activities. Mittens help, but then I can't do anything that needs dexterity (firing a gun, baiting a hook, pressing a shutter button, etc). I used to operate a forklift in a lumber yard and I had a few pairs of gloves. I'd wear one pair, sit on another, and leave the other near the exhaust of the forklift. I'd rotate them around when my hands got too cold. Every once in a while I'd go inside and run some warm water over my hands. Not fun. That's less than ideal for your hands in cold weather!I can never wear gloves below about 50˚F because I have 1 or 2 fingers on each hand that have bad circulation due to injuries. I have to wear mittens and keep all my fingers together, preferably folded against my palm to share the blood flow. (I also have some small beanbags that I heat in the microwave when temps are really cold, and will slip those into my mittens.)
I doubt it's ebony. It's a Chinese made knife that I got in a set with a small single blade. The only info I could find about the handle is that its "woodgrain". I bought it to see how I liked the canoe pattern (I do).Is that an ebony canoe? Looks wonderful!I have several Buck canoes, but have never seen one in black wood!
Peanut-like Knife for me this week is a Case Delrin model (thanks for the GAW, Cory):
