What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Cold, windy and snowy today, so far I have my Boker damascus beauty on my hip. 20 times twisted Damasteel(Swedish powder metallurgy damascus, only of its kind) blade and bolsters, massarandba handles; dovetailed into bolster, all pinned construction. Teyke design. Damasteel holds a great edge and sharpens up well, pretty incredible stuff. Great little sheath, too.

I can remember admiring that knife when it first hit the market. Every time I see your picture, I kick myself for not buying one.
Very nice, Kris!

Thanks Gary, I passed it by at first, then I started to look at the materials and design elements, and I was sold. It makes a nice little carry.

Even more snow today.

It's been a while and I thought the #62 Whittler deserved a little attention once again.

And this one just doesn't want to leave the pocket.

The 57 has been in my watch pocket as a fine cutting tool. Another walk and another prize left in nature.

An attempt to be 'artistic' :foot:

Pickle Green 57 Half-Whitt??? Got the same and really pleased with it:thumbup:

Today, a stainless GEC Conductor with stag handles I bought recently from Boggs, thanks Jim. This knife is actually nesting in my pocket, wonderful carry.:D

Regards, Will

Hey Will,

Thanks, but its the split spring whittler. Spring green but since I have been carrying it the greens have lightened. All I can think is it was heavily oiled from the factory and it has aired out some now.

Kevin, that's an awesome find! I was just out for a walk and finally found, what I HOPE will be some California Live Oak burl. I still have to cut it open to see what she looks like inside, but I'm hopeful. Thanks for the inspiration!

Thanks Vic and your welcome, Will.

As for the burl, I sure hope you found something special! It will have been even better that you found it yourself. The antlers are fun to work with. I have made some jewelery recently but that's for a different forum.

I hope to see how you work out that burl, Vic! Please shoot me a PM if I'm not active here. I love this place but I get sucked in and forget to keep out and about and active :)
