What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Interesting plans for your stick, Jack.:cool::thumbsup: If you use coffee grounds to stain it, do you rub them onto the stick, or wrap the stick in a poultice of grounds, or what?
Sorry to hear about the chronic foot pain. :( I hope spring brings some relief.

Thanks Gary, they may change. Unfortunately all the hardware stores are closed here at the moment, or the ones near me are anyway (I'm looking forward to going over to Barnitt's!). From what I've read, you just rub the coffee grounds onto the stick. I just hope I can get an even finish, which is one of the reasons I haven't done it yet. Thanks again buddy

I slipped an Old Friend in my pocket last weekend, it's tiny, and has found a home for the time being - a Maserin Filiscjna. I used to carry this knife often, but it's been a while. I wish I knew what the word 'Filiscjna' meant! Carrying my Waynorth Lambsfoot too

Classy carries Jack!;)

Thank you good sir :)

Couple of tortoises today, one thrifty and one not. Really like both of them! :)

Both look good :) When I was young, just about every kid here had a tortoise. I asked my dad if I could have a dog, got a tortoise  It didn't even come with a knife! o_O:rolleyes:

And it never will... fond memories I'm sure. :)

The beads are bigger than the knife. ;)

Definitely my friend, so many happy days :)

The beads (Baltic amber) are TINY too! :D

A couple of usual suspects today...

Classic pairing John :)

Those Frontiers are solid working knives. The black one was my Grandad’s. He taught me how to make a whistle with it out of a willow branch on the banks of the Mississippi River when we were fishing. He used his too. The other one, like your Grandad’s is a spare. Send me your address and it’s yours.

Wow Jim, that is so, so kind. Thank you so much. The porch is an awesome place!

rcs86 rcs86 @315 You guys have given me a bit of inspiration for todays carry, the only knife I own that had my Grandad’s hand on it - one he gave to my Dad back circa 1970. My Dad kept it in a tackle box until giving it to me about ten years ago. Ulster 58OT. OH

That's awesome! No matter how many knives we get, these are the ones that are the most valuable.

Couple of well-designed precision tools, Gary!:thumbsup::thumbsup:
Thanks, Gary. The Whittler is a great example of Tony Bose's and Case's dedication to the collaboration knives.
I almost hated putting my slide rules aside when I got my first scientific calculator, the TI SR-50, in 1974. There was no going back at that point though.

Pretty awesome how that blade delete brought new life into your 86. Such a great knife, and now it is getting serious use! I hope GEC continues to offer acrylic options regularly.
It surely has brought new life to it, and I couldn’t agree more with you concerning acrylics. Here’s to hoping! ;)

Thanks Jack! I had tortoises when I was a kid also, and my kids have had them since they were little as well. Not sure why I find them so appealing, just do I guess.:)
Have a good one!
Todd
