Totin’ an old friend today. The Sambar Stag is nearly fifty years old and has aged nicely over the years.

I feel the same when I see your photographs Yann, Corto_Malt Corto_Malt . They make me want to explore the world of French Regional Knives! Please tell us about this beauty. Are the handles Ram’s Horn?

Another beautiful knife Greg!
I really like its general line and the blade.
I can't wait to discover the next ones...

Thanks for the interest in Benjamin Celle's traditional Corsican curnicciolu.
It is indeed a ram's horn handle with a carbon steel blade from the Tarn steel mills. This two nails is really pleasant in hand and very light in pocket (90cm blade with a little more than 75cm of useful cutting edge, 11cm handle, 19,5cm open). It's not too visible on the picture but the work on the blade by Benjamin is really very nice.
It has long been one of my favorite daily knives. I had abandoned it a bit at the bottom of the drawer. But yesterday a conversation with a friend who was carrying a traditional Corsican shepherd knife made me want to take it out again this morning.

Have a nice day in Louisiana.

Ah, that is a Corsican knife Corto_Malt Corto_Malt . It looks a bit like an American Sodbuster.

Thanks for your good wishes. The weather here is tolerable for the time being, however the heat and humidity are just around the corner. I love my life in Louisiana, but the weather is a challenge to say the least. I have traveled the world over and never experienced a more difficult climate! But this is my family’s home thanks to the British expelling them from Acadie in the 1700’s, and we make out the best we can. At least it is never boring here, and the food is good!

With the Forum Knife discussion getting everyone excited (including myself), I thought I would slip the 2019 knife in my pocket today.

Doesn't get much better than these two knives.

The weather has been unseasonably warm the past couple of days (we hit 80˚F yesterday):thumbsup:, and coincidentally my rotation schedule happened to assign me all 3 Chinese Imperial cracked ice knives I own, to help me stay cool I guess! Here are my sowbelly and standard and mini canoes, all with matching covers:

A light carry today, quite light but very handy and sharp!

They intentionally left the tip a bit thicker for prying into the chestnuts and the like. I added an insert of walnut as a filler at the end of the blade opening, just seemed proper ;)

I was rooting around in a bag of miscellaneous lanyards and key chains, on the hunt for a carbineer. Found this little knife. It must have been something my wife picked up, no way is it mine! :D
