Happy National Rescue Dog Day

Couple of canoes this week, Uncle Henry and Marbles. The Staglon covers on the Chinese 11UH sure aren't as nice looking as the old Staglon from Schrade USA on the stockman at the bottom of this post!

Couple of stockman knives this week, too: a Rough Rider stag sowbelly stockman and a Schrade USA 897UH medium stockman (thanks, Dean).

Speaking of good looking, your RR stag sowbelly stockman is a real looker, Gary.

Another highlight of the day ...
Getting ready to walk out to the mailbox and check mail
Just in case, might drive, it's 50ft after all and everything
... how does my hair look?

EDIT: My 'little' brother had open heart surgery this morning
Been waiting by the phone for updates
So far, Mike is doing good

Best wishes for your brother, Jim.

Oh, and your hair looks fine. But what do I know? I’ve been cutting my own hair for twenty five years. You might want a second opinion.

Got this...again.
I had something pretty cool happen today. I been toting this Andy Fannin awhile now, and it’s really neat but the thing (there is always a ‘thing’) that I wanted different was I wanted the stag darker. Was toying with the tea/coffee soak but heard the stag swells (not brave enough for that) and then read about the leather dye (hadn’t gotten around to ordering that and experimenting...life’s busy again) and a pair of amber stag scales from culpepper showed up in the mail I had ordered. They were still a bit damp with the dye so I rubbed my finger in it and on the scales and presto. Nice even dye job. Waited a bit and cleaned the knife...all good now. Wanted just a little age/darker look.8CE77589-6157-49A2-A334-CAF27F5893B0.jpegAAB17378-246D-4103-8863-669462937975.jpeg
