What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

It started as just an average 4-foot chain link fence. Then I got a half German Shepherd half Austrailian Shepherd dog and thought she might try to jump the 4-foot fence so, I added some 3-foot "No Climb" fence making it a 7-foot fence. Actually, she has never given any indication that she'd jump the fence but it makes the wife feel safer because she thinks it keeps her safe while working out in the yard from coyotes and mountain lions. Don't laugh - we get coyotes here frequently and one or two mountain lions here (around about the property) every month or so.
Yotes in a pack are no laughing matter. Especially when it comes to other animals. I thought mountain lions.

We have quite a coyote pack that hunts around here. When we start to see a lot of rabbits, we can expect to hear them howling nearby. Good reason to carry a sidearm when going out for a walk.
We are outside the normal range for big cats, but a couple of years ago, there were a bunch of reports, including photos of a cougar sneaking around in the Chicago suburbs. Biologists thought it was a young male that had been driven out to find his own range. Wonder what happened to him...

Ed, that photo you posted on your tractor showed some beautiful scenery! Wild looking.

Saw those same photos Jeff. My brother-law lives in Elgin and he was telling me about it.

Yes Jeff, it is wild here when it comes to wildlife but not humans so much although we do get the rowdy crowd coming through sometimes. As far as wildlife, we've got pretty much everything. Although I don't hunt any more, many a time, in the past, I've walked the land shown in the background of my picture hunting rabbits and squirrels for the occasional rabbit or squirrel dinner. I still keep my hunting license current mostly to contribute to wildlife/wildland conservation.

That looks like it's fun to carry, Jack. 🤠
It sure is John! :D ;)
Ironwood Lamb (Skol) and Case Medium Stockman for Wednesday
My school's having graduation tonight. Only supposed to be 95 degrees, and thanks to COVID we will be on the open black top... should be fun. 🤪
Good luck buddy! Great pairing today :)
Love the small Texas Jack, not sure why I don't carry mine more often. 🤠
I feel just the same John  I had not had mine long, when I picked up my #66 Serpentine Jack, and it more or less completely supplanted the Case  ;)
I really like it when somebody finds a knife that 'clicks' and they just aren't sure why.
My Rosewood Lamb is that way. At a glance it's a pretty Plain Jane, but it just 'clicks' with me.
I know just what you mean! :D ;)

I risked life and limb for the dwellers to get this pic.
I'm glad your #71 didn't fall off of the fence! ;)
I have two of Charlie's finest with me today. I tried to take a pic ala JJ Cahill JJ Cahill , but I just don't have those skills haha. Happy Wednesday!

Terrific twosome
Looking great today with your wonderful Hartshead slicer and your very cool pocket chopper; sweet pairing! :thumbsup:
Many thanks JJ :)

Whoa !!! Nice to see one here. I ordered one a couple of days ago and it just now shipped today. RDaneel RDaneel Impressions?

EDIT: I have a Curly Maple SS Teardrop that I'm still awaiting warranty return authorization from Case. F/F on it is terrible but I'm sure Case will make it right ... sooner or later.
In the meantime, I ordered the Chestnut Bone CV teardrop LOL.

Mine is well made (and so is my Curly Maple one). Good back spring, just like the Curly Maple. Only quibble is a small gap on one end of one side between the scale and bone. Everything else is top drawer.

That's interesting, Mountain Lion must be exciting to see- at a distance. Once saw a Brown Bear on a trail about 150 metres from me in Eastern Finland. Decided to move quietly and quickly back to the car. Do you get a lot of snakes in the garden? I suppose having dogs keeps them off?

Knife aspect: In honour of Mountain Lions here's Cougar Claw and Stockman friend

Thanks, Will
