We've got a fire on Bureau of Land Management (BLM) land three-quarters of a mile from the house - 131 acres, forward progress stopped, 20% contained. Got the Expedition packed - go bags, water, snacks, papers, etc.. We're not leaving the house because if we do, we might not be able to get back in. All this said, I've added this Buck 112 to my belt.

It started with a lightning strike when a thunderstorm passed over us yesterday at about 3:45 PM.

Stay safe! I hope things get handled so you don't have to go.

Well, so much for the slip… it’s nice but corroding the bolsters and shield. I’m gonna shine it up when I get home and it’ll be pocket carry after that.

Do you leave it in the slip or just while riding in the pocket? I've heard leaving the knife in a slip for long periods can cause tarnish etc. I usually let mine breathe after riding in a slip for the day.

I left it in there. Probably should’ve taken it out after carrying. I might try that and see what happens because I really like the slip.

Great pics Dean, looks like you had a wonderful hike :) :thumbsup:

Thank you, Jack; it was very relaxing. We were in an area we hadn't visited for a couple years.

Great knives and fantastic scenery. 🤠 :thumbsup:

Thank you!

Two great knives. And the shot of the trail makes me want to see what’s around the bend...

Thank you, Jeff. My motto (from J.R.R. Tolkien) is "the road goes ever on."

Sublime Ancient, Dean! :cool::cool::thumbsup:
