Put away the Marbles MR139 fishing knife with an redundent clip point blade, and replaced it with a Case 2137 Stain Less Sod Buster Jr. (thanks again, G.T.) with an not redundent drop point blade.
Still in pocket are the RR1569 Moose, and RR139 large Smooth White Bone sleeveboard Sunfish.
(no sense in showing them again so soon)

Question: Is the natural Drop Elk on the 2018 BF Buck 301 considered "Stag"? Or is"Stag" only from Sika (spelliing?) deer?

As far as I'm concerned the elk is stag in the context of knife handles.

Some of you have remarkable geographic features where you live.
We have the shoe tree.View attachment 1589164119 reasy for our hike.
My mother used to tell me 'Shoes don't grow on trees!' She was wrong about a lot of things! :D ;)
Very cool new covers on your Lamb, great work; your Joseph Haywood is certainly a sweet old slicer, the blade profile looks amazing! 😎:thumbsup:

Toting these two Robeson slicers wearing black composite covers. :)
Thank you kindly JJ, splendid pair of vintage Robesons there my friend  :)

Off for a hike tomorrow, with my trusty Hartshead Barlow, and my Bradford Guardian 3 :) Have a great weekend everyone

We've got a fire on Bureau of Land Management (BLM) land three-quarters of a mile from the house - 131 acres, forward progress stopped, 20% contained. Got the Expedition packed - go bags, water, snacks, papers, etc.. We're not leaving the house because if we do, we might not be able to get back in. All this said, I've added this Buck 112 to my belt.

It started with a lightning strike when a thunderstorm passed over us yesterday at about 3:45 PM.
I’ll be thinking of you Ed!
Do you have a good enough well to take the hose and soak the house and yard?
That’s hilarious! I’ve never seen one down state Jeff, must be specific to a slightly higher latitudes. 😉
Something was higher, I’m sure.
Thank you, Jeff. My motto (from J.R.R. Tolkien) is "the road goes ever on."

Luckily you listened to Mum, right, Jack?
One grand daughter reminded me that her Dad had contributed a pair of her shoes about ten years ago...

Enjoy your hike, my friend!

I'm afraid I didn't have any choice my friend! :D Still suffering with my feet 50 years later! ;)

Sounds like my dad! And he was only in the other room! :D I started buying my own when I got to around 12

Thanks a lot Jeff, have a great weekend

Hi

These are Douk-Douk inspired knives called "Sons of Douk-Douk".
A new interpretation declined in 3 themes:
- Yatagan blade for the Moorish theme
- London for the Maritime theme
- Higonokami for the Japanese theme

Painted folded metal handle, N690Co stainless steel blade.
Creations of the Cognet cutlery in Thiers

I have two of them (gifts for Father's Day)

Thanks for the detailed answer - they are beyond cool!
@5K Qs
Quite humbling comments my friend! I’ve also been known to procrastinate as well. It’s perfect when everything falls together naturally with time, sort of makes us look like we know what we’re doing lol!!

Today’s carry is becoming a fave, it’s just so natural as 2019 was my 50th…

A great Friday and weekend to all:cool:
Fantastic photo of a very interesting knife.
Your leather handle work really turned out nice - great looking Buck 102. OH

World-class whittler, Greg! :cool::cool::thumbsup:

Thank you, Gary. :) I watched that Roy R. clip you posted this morning before I headed to work, a bit of nostalgia put me in a good mood to start the day.

Different whittler in my pocket, along with some ebony for Black Friday. Osage is always one of my favorites and ebony with steel pins and liners is also something I'm fond of. The leather on my John DF made slip is taking on a nice patina with use.
