I did a little write-up on mine when I first got it. My comment on that was "The snap on opening is quite positive - nothing I'm ever going to do with a folding knife would put this in danger of closing up on me."Thanks, I think so too.
I hope yours is as 'snappy' as mine, it really slaps open.
I like that.![]()
Yeah they sure do. Always wanted a WW1 period military example, then two come along at once. The larger knife is possibly earlier. That peasant knife is a pleasant knife!
Congrats to all who have picked up one of those fantastic GEC 83s, either new or old; very appealing little lockbacks!!
Ravishing ruby red Robeson, Gus!
Riveting royal canoe, Mike!
Those are vibrant vintage examples, Mark!
Do they both have copper bails/shackles?
Breathtaking bone on both Cases, Steve!!
Captivating couple of knives, JJ!
I wish polygonal shields were more common.
Magnificent mini canoe!
I think of myself as quite a "canoesseur", but I still haven't ordered a Case Baby Butterbean!
That's something I've said often as a Chicago Cubs fan!
I appreciate your kind words.
Just be patient; I'm sure your "buyer's remorse" will eventually be less severe!

We had a great camping trip with my wife’s family; just a little too short. We hiked to a stream yesterday, and I brought my fly rod. I saw a bunch of trout but couldn’t catch any. The swimming was good, though. Here are a few pictures.

Great pictures Sacto, that stream is so beautiful I’d fish it even if I knew there were no fish in it!Thanks, John. It’s a great camp knife.![]()

I remember reading that review, very well done.I did a little write-up on mine when I first got it.
Thank you Mike, it doesn't get carried as much as it should, but I do enjoy having it. OHA great knife Old Hunter, I like the slim profile and the spey vs 2nd clip blade that most muskrats seem to have-I grasped mine this past weekend but opted for something else-glad to see others appreciating the 313!![]()

Had one of those in my toolbox for years - mine has extremely strong springs (the old bear-trap spring of legend) but is a fine working knife. Enjoy! OH![]()
First Boker came in today so I'm going to carry it for awhile. Bought it to modify but we'll see.
Thanks for the compliment Gary, and for your heroic multi-quoting effortsThat's a cool pic, I'm surprised you didn't organise those M&Ms!

Indeed, I DID organize those candies for aHe probably did, and we just aren't smart enough to see it.![]()
Alan, that knife started as an Opinel #6 (so about 3.75" closed, IIRC), but I wanted to reshape the handle into a "cigar" shape. Due to poor planning on my part, I discovered after the handle mod that the blade no longer fit the handle:Like that spearpoint Gary. Looks kind of small.
Thanks for the additional information about that handsome knife (and for the "picture book" backgroundHi
Thank you. It is a big "shuttle", Le Puy Cervier, created by Jean Issard and assembled and marketed by the association Les Vieilles Lames.
Size 11,5 cm blade XC75 this one has a handle in olive tree

Very cool lighthouse SAK, Todd!Getting ready to go out for dinner. Dropping these in my pocket. Since we’re in Michigan, I thought I’d carry my Lighthouse SD this week. If I have my facts correct, there are more lighthouses in Michigan than any other state in the US. View attachment 1599212

I have one of those Boker USA linesman knives, and it's virtually bombproof! Nice knife!Old Hunter Thanks. This one is stout but I wouldn't call it a bear trap. Both blades are full but spotted. It does seem to be made to use. I like it
