It’s actually OD Gary. It’s Victorinox’s typical high quality but too large for every day pocket carry. It came in a nice sheath so most days it sits in my pack. I was looking for something new and this popped up on the auction site. The seller lived near me so I took a shot and made an offer which he accepted. We met for coffee one morning, so all in all a very good deal.Your black SAK is intriguing, Alan! I should probably try one of those more "modern" Vics, but I'm quite happy just gradually picking up some of the "old school" models.
Sadly, we did not visit any lighthouses. That was clearly on my agenda, but with only a few days in which to fit several activities, it wasn’t at the top of the list. Dad got outvoted.Knives are looking good; have you seen any lighthouses?
Cool Barlow Street sign!
Safe travels, Todd! When we used to go "up north" for just 1 week, we'd try to pack in all the activities we could into 6 days, and I'd be exhausted after a week of vacation. Once we decided to stay for 2 weeks and alternate "active" days and "chill" days, vacation became more enjoyable for me.

Can you "roll" the knife from one side to the other between your palms to "animate" the bird??

Lest you think I don’t eat my veggies too:As I’ve said on these pages someplace, View attachment 1602037 if I want to cook with gas, I’ll go to my kitchen. When I grill, it’s over wood. Tomahawk in a paella pan with my grilling knife, GEC 23 Beaver Tail.
Thaumatrope. From Wikipedia: "A thaumatrope is an optical toy that was popular in the 19th century. A disk with a picture on each side is attached to two pieces of string. When the strings are twirled quickly between the fingers the two pictures appear to blend into one due to the persistence of vision."Whao! Some kind of custom Okapi?
Thanks, Gary.
No, I'm afraid the images aren't oriented properly to work as a thaumatrope. If only I'd had the foresight to plan better.

I "wowed" (is that a word?) your post, because nearby tornados are always wow worthy, but I love5K Qs
Wow thank you as always Gary !!
Oh I have that relic here somewhere and I will indeed dig it up as I’ve moved back to Mom’s and it’s in storage. When I endeavour to find it at some point, you’ll be the first to know!
Ya… katsup huh… lol !
Friday evening was quite a mean one up here. Other than tons of wild rain a tornado touched down upon a smaller city about an hour to our NW. No one perished from what I’ve heard with property damage being a major factor. This is what our sky looked like just before nightfall…

So for Sunday’s easy carry, as we’ve cooled off from the humidity since then,
A classic…

Nice photo John. Those single blade copperheads are really nice, I still haven’t pulled the trigger on the yellow yet, but I’m feeling very weak!
Love those mini trappers with the secondary wharncliffe, and white bone is icing on the cake.Sunday already?! Hope everyone has had an enjoyable weekend. Mini trapper for today.
