I sure wish I could send some of our rain to Sacto and Modoc Ed. We were around 15 inches ahead of normal before last night/this morning.
2318PU (in the rain  ) for Black Friday.

I wish. Seems like it’s either too much or not enough. We probably only got 9 inches all season which is less than half of normal.

I’ve got intermittent service, so I’m a little behind but catching up. I carried this one on Friday.

Thank you, Jack. This is a nice example and I am learning why there is a well-deserved affinity for the Lambsfoot.

I’ve done some standard gunk removal and will find the can of compressed air to do the same.

Hope to see you in the Guardians thread :)

Wishing everyone a good week  Starting mine with my Bagpipe Ebony Lambsfoot SFO, and a Metal Monday 1955 Burma Knife from J.H. Thompson.

Thanks GT, I am a big fan of the Electrician as well.
...
I think of it as a Victorinox cattle knife with caplifter. ;)

I don't think so Gary and thanks !
Thanks for the info about TL-29 shields, Steve. I've probably led a sheltered life that cause me to think that some common things are rare. 🤓

Takes a lot of brass to post that!!😁

...
Plaudits for the versatile black/red combo, Jeff!:cool:

...
Thanks, Gary. More blades than I needed that day but as a former boy it doesn't hurt to Be Prepared.🙂

I'm starting out this Saturday with this pairing of appaloosa bone and faux tortoise....

Hope for the best, prepare for the worst!
Very attractive covers on that pair, Greg!:thumbsup:

Love going on trips, but it’s always good to be home.😊 I’ll be carrying these, for most of the day anyway. The mail has been on hold all week and my wife went to town to pick it up this morning. I received several delivery notifications when we were gone so…😆View attachment 1601706
High-class homecoming knives, Todd, and congrats on the new arrivals, whatever they are! 🤓:thumbsup:

Traveling back home today...
Chestnut jigged bone is irresistible to me!:cool:

... get ready to go to the Brass Rail this evening for dinner - lamb steak sliced really thin so I can gum it along with Spanish Rice, salad, and a baked potato. ...

I admire that you know what you'll order before you even get there - no need to look at a menu!:)

Have a good weekend everyone. Friends are coming over and I guess we're going to some fancy restaurant called Applebees.
Likable lambsfoot!:cool: I haven't been to an Applebees in a very long time; used to enjoy some kind of ribs special there, I think.

Some stag for Saturday. ...

Superb stag, Mike, especially that little pen knife!:cool:

Congrats on the terrific trapper!:cool:

Your WCLF is incapable of being in a bad photo! ;)
My mind has become a random memory generator, so it doesn't mean much that I don't recall seeing that handsome Remington jack before; is it new to you?

Hi GT, it is an exceptionally well made knife.
I really like mine.
I think the rivet is mostly decorative as it is a motif in several of their designs.
If I look in the well it appears that the portion of the rivet is used to hold the bone covers as well.

It feels solid with a nice blade geometry, VG10 steel. Excellent F&F
edit: for less than $50 canadian is a really good buy imo
Thanks for the informative reply, Dan!:)

Thank you for compliment . I bought this knife new when I was a teenager . It was my first Case knife . No it is not green bone ; it’s chestnut bone ,but I think it looks somewhat like jigged Appaloosa bone .
Sounds like a special knife for you!:cool: I'm a big fan of Case chestnut jigged bone, and would like to hunt down a chestnut canoe with CV blades some day.

Quality trio, Jeff! :thumbsup::thumbsup:

It’s actually OD Gary. It’s Victorinox’s typical high quality but too large for every day pocket carry. It came in a nice sheath so most days it sits in my pack. I was looking for something new and this popped up on the auction site. The seller lived near me so I took a shot and made an offer which he accepted. We met for coffee one morning, so all in all a very good deal.View attachment 1602155
Sounds great, Alan! :cool::thumbsup:

Sadly, we did not visit any lighthouses. That was clearly on my agenda, but with only a few days in which to fit several activities, it wasn’t at the top of the list. Dad got outvoted. 😊 Alternating days sounds fantastic to me also, I often come home from a vacation exhausted! 😂
Been there, done that! 🤓

...
Thanks, Gary.
No, I'm afraid the images aren't oriented properly to work as a thaumatrope. If only I'd had the foresight to plan better. ;)
...
...
Just never know what you're going to learn when you log into BF 🤓 Thaumatrope was a new one to me. Thanks for this morning's intellectual exercise :thumbsup: Gotta keep those brain cells churning around in there😃
...
I'm with Mike, Rachel; that was a new word for me, too! o_O😁 I would have just called such a device a "2-frame flip book", probably.

P, it’s supposed to be 52100. That’s what I requested. I cut some potatoes yesterday with no sign of color yet lol. The last 52100 I got from him was very slow to color also.

I have to agree. The bone is just divine. I think I’m pretty fortunate. Love how it turned out.
