Looks very nice and very well used with a great patina.
Good to hear that you've been using it for quite some years now.

Switched up today since my Viper bit me hard and needed a easy open carry. Excuse the ET finger lol the camera angle blew up the top of my finger and the crazy glue isn’t working it keeps popping open although seems to be holding my finger nail together . My viper is pretty sharp as it was sharp out of the box but I’ve stropped it on my leather strop block with some green compound and it’s razor sharp it even cut threw part of my finger nail 😲
Anyway back to the Beautiful Gec 83 to the rescue.

Although the picture doesn’t show it I think this just might be my worse knife cut to date definitely worthy of a few stitches.

Thanks for the kind words Wouter 1967. It’s given me great service, and it seems like it gets better with age.

I wanted to give this post a Like for the GEC, but didn't want it to appear to be a Like for the unfortunate wound. Here's to a quick recovery!

Thank you my friend very much as your kind words are much appreciated :)
With that being said like away it might make my finger feel better lol. This was definitely a good wake up call for me. For those wondering how it happen I was cutting some leather lanyards and grabbed my viper really fast not realizing the Wharnie was upside down and had the edge up instead of down so when I pushed down on to the edge and cutting board with much pressure to cut the leather it went pretty deep.
Stupid mistake in a dark candle lit room and late sunday night. Thats my story and I’m sticking to it 😁

Factor, that does look bad, hopefully it will heal quickly. My son almost did a very similar thing with one of my Lambsfoot knives. He grabbed it upside down and put his index finger on the edge, I saw him doing it and was able to stop him before he applied any pressure. It happens, take care my friend.
👍

Thanks Brother ! I think the shape of the blade because it’s almost reversed of a traditional clip point or similar made it feel like it was correct along with the handle it felt right until the unthinkable happen 😲

My worst cut was with a balisong, a Pacific Cutlery Imada High Hollow bowie blade, EXTREMELY thin edge and lancer sharp point, I was practicing with my left hand, ambidextrous training, and it was being dropped ice pick open and closing, my daughter walked into the room and distracted me...my excuse ;)...and as I brought the knife up to close, the handle didn't swing up far enough but the point did and went in at the first knuckle of my finger and out through the tip in a flash, I jumped up, ran to the bathroom, blood was pumping like crazy, my wife laughing like crazy...of course. taped it close and wrapped it tight but it was a super super clean surgical cut and sealed up fairly quickly but for many days I was reminded as I went to put my hand into my pocket for something...OUCH
