What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

GATkSUK.jpg

Heading out the door in a few minutes for vacation, have several knives in the car to rotate around (all car knives) but I have a 6318 in my pocket. OH

A few of the car knives - from a penknife to a folding hunter - think I'm covered.

Yesterday, after my afternoon mail run about 5:00 PM, I had just sat down in and was relaxing in my recliner
when out on my driveway there arose such a clatter, I sprang from my recliner to see what was the matter.
Not to worry it was FEDEX with a package. Phew, thought it might have been Reindeer or something.

This Remington R7352 Prospector Trapper was in the package. I know I said I hadn't made up my mind to get one but yesterday was my birthday and I always self gift myself something I really like. What a great birthday present to myself. I'll pocket it today when we go to town for lunch and a look see at our niece's and nephew's new house.

Welcome back and thanks for noticing my AC. I can’t keep up with this thread, but I try to dip my toe in the waters when I have an extra moment. It really does move fast (or perhaps I move more slowly!) these days.
I'm a big fan of those stag Ashley's Choice lambsfoots, but have to confess that almost any knife with pork grilling in the background would have caught my eye! ;) :thumbsup:

...
Thanks Gary, good to have you back, hope you had a great trip! 👍
Thank you, Gary, and welcome back.
...
Welcome back, GT!
Welcome back, hope it was a good trip.
Thanks GT and welcome back !
...
I hope you and the family had a great vacation! 🙂
5K Qs 5K Qs - welcome back GT, looking forward to your weekly rotations.

Many thanks Gary, it's great seeing you back my friend, I hope you had an enjoyable vacation :) :thumbsup:
Welcome back Gary!
5K Qs 5K Qs ~ No, salsa cures what ails you. It does not cause ailments. :p
Looking forward to a few vacation pictures, and wondering if you detoured a bit to the big Case store up there...
Thanks for the warm words of welcome on my return from vacation, everyone! :):cool: Our trip was quite enjoyable, with lots of boats, birds, beer, books, bounteous meals, and time to walk my daily miles before breakfast in the cool of the morning.
Jeff, my wife has a different interpretation of commitment to departure times than I do, so, sadly, we didn't have time to stop at the Case dealer on the way up as I had hoped, and on the way home it was a race to get back in time to fetch the dogs before the kennel closed. Here ae a couple of vacation pics:
Antique wooden boat - saw lots of these:

A newer, but still old boat with tail fins that remind me a bit of a '59 Chevy (some matching knife content):

I've got another small knife pairing today.

Play us a tune, you're the piano woman! Nice ebony/ivory keys! :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:
That Voos has got the juice! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Jack and a gifted SAK Pioneer (thanks John) will cover anything I’ll run into today. Have a great day everyone! 😊👍View attachment 1627610
Yet another pair of classics! :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup: How do you like the bigger Alox SAK?

My "usual" A. Wright African Rosewood Regular Lambsfoot, a Jack Black SFO, and a Case 63032 CV Medium Stockman in Amber Jigged Bone
Thanks for the exhaustive identification of your premier pair of knives! ;):cool::thumbsup:

A couple of Case XX today, Jack and a Stockman

Such distinctive bone and jigging on that pair of Case knives! :cool::cool::thumbsup:

Thanks, GT. It’s a workhorse for sure 👍
I can imagine it is! :thumbsup::cool::cool:

Yes, its an Albers. I traded for it with Catdaddy2 :thumbsup: The wood is Katalox, which I had never heard of before. Its nickname is Mexican Royal Ebony even though its not an ebony wood. Its a wood that the more I look at it, the more I like it. Hard to photograph though. I probably took 20-25 pics of it the other day to get half dozen good ones.
Thanks for the confirmation and additional information. :):cool::thumbsup:

Amazing and ancient pair of lambsfoots! :cool::thumbsup::cool:

Thanks, GT! It had been a while since I’d carried that little Case, and I forgot how much I like it. :thumbsup:

:thumbsup::thumbsup:🤓

Thanks! That’s the first time anyone accused me of cogency. :)
You're welcome. :) I'm willing to accuse anyone of anything at any time! o_O😄

Carried an el cheapo Irish made Imperial to town to run errands today, Thrifty Thursday :)

One of my favorites riding with me today!

One of the best-looking knives I've ever seen here, and a fantastic baseball glove pocket slip!! :cool::thumbsup::cool:

These two black utilitarians today...
The Case jack is always handy....and then the electrician TL29 is one of two pocketknives issued to me while in the USMC, the other being the camp utility style which many refer to as the Demo knife....really, interesting note, this TL-29 is the Demo issued to combat engineers and e.o.d. guys and I have heard them both be referred to as Demo...for me, they were both part of the E2900 small arms' repairman tool kit and being a tool room nco for awhile, I ordered a box of 12 and gave one (camp knife/utility) to each armorer in the infantry weapons repair shop where I was station at Camp Pendleton....later, they issued us Gerber and Leatherman multi tools with sheaths to keep, I still have all 4 variants...cheers for another warm and sunny Thursday gang!
Thanks for the fascinating back story! :cool::cool::thumbsup:

These two on a miserably hot day.

Pair of aces, Tom! :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup:

Tremendous threesome (foursome, if you count the pup)! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

A day early, but have a Blessed weekend everyone. I hope those of us living in the vicinity of the Gulf of Mexico can dodge the Hurricane. Stay safe!

Can you tell that I like the 35 pattern?

Those are beauties, LT! :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:
My first pocketknife was a Colonial Forest-Master, an equal-end scout knife, and I STILL think an equal-end multi bladed knife is about as good as it gets! :rolleyes:;)

Rough Ryder Stockman with Donna Wilcox scrimshaw handle
Classy scrimshaw! :cool::cool::thumbsup:

Have a great Saturday!
Jerry Halfrich Small Rounder along with a handful of Blue Jay feathers found in the yard. I suspect one of the neighborhood feral cats had a hand in the Jays early demise. Likely the same one that my neighbor feeds, and that I shoot at with a pellet gun. :mad:

Well, Gary, given that your lovely wife knows of your KAS (knife acquisition syndrome), that timing thing might not be entirely innocent.
Thanks for the Voos comment as well as the photos!

I approve.
Of the knife, and everything else.
We don’t feed those birds for nothing.

If only feral cats would focus on rodents...
