My game day jersey and knife
Thanks, Gary. It's a challenge to capture the sparkle of gold glitter in the sun, without the steel bolster reflecting too much light. I had to find an area with dappled light and position the knives just so.Striking photo: sun, shadow, ebony, gold glitter!!![]()
Case’s Carhartt pocketknives had a lot of unique features, the one I like most is that they very nearly returned to the short lived “new grind” on the blades. Your example is quite nice. OHA Case Carhartt wharncliffe trapper (thanks, John) is my Miscellaneous Knife of the Week:

Sent you a message to your page!Thank you very much, I tried to send a PM with the store's website, but it doesn't enter. Is your mail full?![]()
Thanks GT. I like the Wharncliffe better than a spey on the mini trapper for my use. It's a handy pocket knife. For a long time I eschewed Case's bonestag. Then a semi- local dealer put this Barlow on sale and it impressed me so I thought I'd try it on the mini trapper. I got them both mail order, so it was luck of the draw. I'm pleased with both. I haven't looked at too many bonestags. Do they have a lot of variation like real stag?Real handsome Wharncliffe mini trapper, Mike!Wish they'd let buyers pick whatever blade combo they wanted; I'd go for lambsfoot/spey or lambsfoot/spear!
I like the looks of Case's bone stag, but I think I'd want to be able to choose it in person.

Ha! I started going grey in my twenties also and was all grey by 50. Used to tell my friends that I didn't care if it turned grey as long as it didn't turn looseMy hair has been turning grey since I was in my 20's
By my 40's I was completely grey and people would tease me.
Now that I'm in my late 50's, people are jealous that I still have all my hair.![]()
Admire that pairing! Venerable old knife and a very decent fixed blade, small but useful, will have to look into those (since I haven't had a new knife in months...the horror100+ year old Bayonne Knife Co. jack with a character ridden but super sharp pitted main blade. Paired today with a LT Wright small fixed blade in stag.
Have a pleasant Sunday everyone.
