What watch do you wear?

You cared enough to sarcastically reply to my post. Now go and take your jealousy somewhere else.
And the reason behind the sarcasm obviously went right over your head.

No worries about jealousy here. I know what I've done in my life.

Knifein: If you bought (or received) the watch and love it, I'm very happy for you. While not my preferred higher valued maker nor, stylistically, my cup of tea, it is still a fine piece of horological art. I'm just not sure why you felt a need to announce it's monetary value. Do you leave the price decals on all your high priced "trophies"?

If all goes as I hope this week, my father will be bringing me his Seiko 6105-8000 diving watch that he bought in Japan on his way home from Viet Nam. I left home in 1991, but always remember that watch sitting in one of his drawers. He never wore it, nor did he smoke a pipe, but he had pipe tobacco in that same drawer. It smelled so good! I hope the watch has that same smell.

Well, dad brought me a watch, but it wasn't this one. He was very generous as usual, so I am not upset or anything. I think he has a bit of attachment to it since he bought it when leaving Nam.

I wear an Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Grande Complication valued at around $650,000.

Goodness gracious...it just goes to show you that being worth a gazillion+ dollars cannot buy you happiness or peace; case in point, hanging around a knife forum.;)

If you have the money... might as well enjoy it!

Today's watch - 1954 Bulova 23J self-winder with sunburst dial.

I bought a couple different Orient watches in the last week. I picked up this Mako and ordered the Brady Straps for it at the same time. Wore it a few times now and I'm really liking it. Other than a cheap Timex I wore while in the army these are my only watches I've ever bought.

Then after I picked up the Mako a certain retailer that I'm not sure if I'm supposed to list on here had a clearance sale on the Orient Chicane watch for $59. After discount code it brought the price down to $53 and I couldn't pass it up. Will be my office watch at work. Today is my first day wearing it and so far I'm really liking it.

The second watch I traded a knife for finally arrived from Spain. Mid 1960's Omega automatic. 565 movement. Champagne dial (Crown and Buckle band for now). Seems to be keeping good time, I might hold off on her pre-emptive service for a bit as she's had documented work recently.

A bulova marine star black IP watch with diamond accents. I wear it everyday and in places the black coating has worn off just leaving exposed SS

I've been a Casio G-Shock collector for many years and have many new models. I used to be really into Seiko divers but they just can't take getting banged around. I'm a PADI certified scuba diver and my G's are pretty much bullet proof, lot's of great new models out that will give many years of service.

First time I've every heard that the Seiko drivers can't take getting banged around. They may have drawbacks but they have a history of being extremely durable.

I always appreciate a fine watch but never seemed to like having one on my wrist.
Pocket watches now are another thing! :)
