What would you like to see from CS in 2017?

How about an upgraded Marauder Bowie in 3V or XHP with a metal guard? I always felt like its an awesome design that never got all of what it deserves.

This! Love the blade shape hate the rubber guards. Marauder in XHP or tool steel, metal guard, micartas handle and and flat grind would be awesome.

Exactly. And after thinking a bit about it I think XHP is the best option. That way we get to keep its satin finish goodness.

I would love a cool tacticool cs-styled flipper cleaver with blackwash finish and 3V steel. Handle scales...blackwash titanium!

Decent blade grinds. Every single one was off center from the factory including my ti lite 6 in cts xhp. I can say the xhp is a nice upgrade over the aus 8, but honestly I'm not impressed by it.

+1 YES! No more uneven blade grind please! And the cutting edge grind too(yes it's different from blade grind), it's like someone grinding the edge has serious bias towards one hand causing the angle to be steep one side and shallow on the others.

agreed, the edge grinds are crap too. the older cs knives i have are ground better than anything in the last 5-6yrs

Damn right. My Talwar came with 10deg on one side and 20 deg on the other. My Natchez has 12 deg on one side and nearly 30 deg on the other. Both knives are almost like a chisel grind. The edge thickens significantly 1/3 length before the tip. I spent 2 months reprofiling the 30 deg side back to around 20 with my stones. Cold steel are you listening?

I would like to see the "ArcAngel Balisong" come back to life. And the custom series.Black Sable,Black Talon,Hatamoto,Spectre,Talwar,

Patton Saber

Prussian Saber from the beginning of the Napoleonic Wars

Maybe something crazy cool as a Stahlrohrlanze (Steel pipe lance)

and bring back the Talwar.

A return to the old style Voyager. Rather than that ugly mess we have now. I have lived many years with out that fancy lock, Never had a CS folder close on my fingers.

My X2 Voyager goes every where I go.

Is the Voyager supposed to be the cheaper option for the Recon series? If it is then maybe just redesign it to look just like the Recon? I've never heard anyone call the Recon ugly, maybe utilitarian, but not ugly. I haven't had anyone in my family hold one of my Recon 1s (4" version) and say it didn't fit their hand either. My mom, dad, sister, niece, nephews, brother, uncles, and friends have all said at one point this year "Hey, do you have your knife on you?". After they use it I usually hear "This knife feels really good in my hand". Maybe when the Voyager and Recons shared the same steel it could have hurt sales on the Recon, but that problem no longer exists with the recent upgrade to different steels on both.

The Broken Skull kind of reminds me of the look of the old Voyagers. It's only in 4" though. Now I have two more things I'd like to see, an XL Broken Skull but with thicker G10 and the Voyager with the same handle shape as the Recon 1!

I'm gonna go against the grain. I like the American lawman. That's pretty much perfect for me. I find myself carrying that and another companies smaller knife. I would like a smaller knife with the new steel and triad lock in say the size of a "delica" I know it would be over kill but still that's what I would like. Or maybe just change the mini American lawman handle to be more like the full size.

Check out the Mini Recon 1, it uses the new less aggressive and thinner G10. It's pretty darn close to Delica size. They're both 7.125 inches long open but the MR1 has a 3" blade while the Delica has a 2.85" blade.

The steel however is a huge difference. The XHP just holds an edge better for me. A VG-10 Stretch held an edge for 160 cuts, the exact same as a Recon 1 in AUS8A on 5/8" Manila rope . The CTS-XHP on a CS Ultimate Hunter went for 540 as far as Ankerson's testing showed. CTS-XHP from my experience with it from CS seems to be heat treated to a higher HRC. Ankerson did a test on a CTS-XHP Military from Spyderco and it only did 240 with a 60.5 HRC while the CS XHP came in at 63.5 HRC. If I wanted a 3" folder the MR1 would be my pick, I had a Delica and while it was small it was just too small for my bear claws:D

You are not alone on this. I've never bought and will prob not buy any CS folder with more than 4" or blade length just because it's impractical for me to edc them. I do own every single CS folder models produced since 2010 that's 4 inches or shorter however, so i'm as big of a CS fans as anyone here. I just have this philosophy where the best knife is the knife you have on you when you needed it.
However, before anyone start getting extreme here, i'm also not a big fan or super tiny knife e.g the Micro Recon 1. Even the Mini Lawman is too small for me.
IMO the ideal size would be somewhere between 7.5 - 8.5 inches overall. Most of the popular knives in the market currently is of this size range, e.g. Manix 2, Para 2, Sebenza, ZT0562, Benchmade Griptilian etc.
Some might argue that "well, why dont you just go buy other company's knives and leave CS alone with their XL size then", well that's fair, but i'm a big CS fan and i love more Triad lock knife in that size range. I think CS will get more fans when they start offering more diverse models in the Lawman's size range.

I think the American Lawman with a satin blade could rival some of the more popular models from Spyderco and Benchmade for edc. I also wish that the Ultimate Hunter would be offered with a spear point.

Might be right. And offering more of their models with a satin blade option would also be good for sales.
