Whatcha got on order? (Traditional Knives Only)

A couple of Beer & Soda Scouts from GEC. Looking forward to putting them to gud use! ;)

Same here with the Beer Scouts. Waiting for Barry's bloodwood SFO to drop

Kyle, sweet little Zulu. I love that pattern.

I called a guy about one knife, and found out about this Dowell trapper that was on hold for someone else. I said if the guy didn't take it, I'm definitely interested. Well a few hours later, I got the go ahead that it was mine if I wanted. No one had to twist my arm.

Bret Dowell 4" trapper. Blade and spring are both acid etched A2. It's something totally different from the norm and I can't wait to see it in hand. I often wonder who else may have owned the knives we buy in situations like this. Someone on this forum that we never find out about?

That's a nice pickup!

Thanks Kyle. I'm tellin ya, I'm really liking the shadow patterns especially in micarta scales. It oozes utility. Funny how we run into these knives sometimes, especially when we tell ourselves "no more" haha. That's just about the time a knife we need pops up on the radar!

Yea, I was doing good with the " no more knives"..... Til I saw the Zulu. Ugh I'm so weak lol

And I agree completely with your thoughts on micarta. The last few knives I've bought were all micarta. I just love the stuff!

Placed the order this morning for this CSC Smooth oiled Rams Horn Single Spring Muskrat this morning. Hard one to find these days. With all the talk of the forthcoming Forum Knife and the difficulty in a democracy to get exactly what you want I had to have this one. Plan is to turn the second clip into a nice longish coping secondary.

Theoretically, once the mod is done, my search for the perfect knife will be complete... theoretically. 😀

I had been eyeballing that exact same knife... I think I even bookmarked it. The handles are real nice and I've never had a knife with Ram's horn handles so I've been looking for one. I was also too slow to pull the trigger on a stock knife with the same handle material. I like your idea for the blade mod. I did a similar mod on my Moore Maker 5204.

I think it's one of the early knives from CSC with the short bolsters and 420HC steel. I'm not sure but I've heard that some of the materials were from Queen and Culpepper... but I don't know if it's true. Their early patterns looked very similar to Queen patterns but I've never seen them side-by-side. If I recall correctly, GEC also used handle materials from Culpepper when they were getting started. It's a neat knife.

I prefer the shorter bolsters but I don't have any of these early CSC knives so I'll be interested in your thoughts about the knife after you have a chance to use it. I do have one of the long bolster stock knives from CSC and it's very nice. The 440C blades take a very nice edge.

Kyle & Jake - Two great knives guys! Can't wait to see more pics!

Congrats gentlemen

Wow David! The coloring of the scales is unbelievable! they look great with the Damascus blade too.

Frank finally got to me... Placed an order with the Buck Custom Shop for an S30V 501 with indigo royalwood handles. Other than that, my New Day is waiting to clear customs, and a Beer Scout is also on the way.

I had this one on preorder for a couple months and it arrived today.

BRKT Essential w/ Ziricote scales, mosaic pins, and red liners...

Hey Jake - Thank you very much for the info about the knife. I was wondering about the blade steel myself and the seller didn't know what was used. Sorry I nabbed it before you. I will let you know what its like as soon as I get it in hand. Unfortunately it arrived just after I left town for a ten day vacation so it'll be waiting for me when I'm home next week.
